Did anyone ever get flags and banners made from them? If so are they expensive? What’s the quality like?

I got a class one made last year. Blue and white with "Blue And White Army" across the middle of it.

It cost about €150, but was well worth it - top quality!

These are really good wws for 'home made'. At the risk of turning this into a Mary's Make and Do - are the letters painted on? Stitched on? How is that done?

    painted on in most cases

a rough outline in chalk beforehand by a competent artistic type will get u goin - its suprisingly easy once thats done - and with a chalk outline u can correct all mistakes before ever going near it with paint!

If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

that was just lashed on with ordinary white paint - freehand!

cost - eh i dunno - material is fairly cheap - sew bits of it together and get a bucket of left over ceiling paint from your shed (everyone has one somewhere!) and hey presto
