Think I heard Kitson wants to throw his name into the ring as well?

Apparently 7 of the 8 parents of The Smiths were Irish. Probably not what you were looking for though...

Think BK was at a loose end or maybe checking on Rowlands form wouldn't want that greedy ****** anywhere near the team

.... and with names like Morrisey, Marr, Joyce and Rourke that makes them more Irish than u2!

Another Engerlander who could have chosen us was Steve McMahon - payed us back though by gifting the ball to Sheedy in Italia90.

I vaguely remember Frogget but I didn't remember anything about his Irish connections, what are they?

Gallen was a strange one. You could call him greedy.

Then again, he was a scoring sensation at QPR (which doesn't take much) as a teenager, might have been under a lot of pressure to declare for England whereas the brothers wouldn't have been.

Noel Whelan was different in that he was actually persued by the FAI and turned it down. He made his choice but decided he wanted to play for Ireland when it became clear that he had no hope of English caps.
