    Ex-LOI players in far-flung places.

Didn't find any similar thread to this, thought it might be nice to keep tabs on ex-LOI players who are not plying their trade in the big leagues.

I'll start with Ayman Ben Mohamed, now with Esperance in Tunisia (has been for a while). Some change from playing in LOI grounds to playing in this. Sounds pretty fluent in Arabic also.

Capped for the Tunisian national team also, made his debut a couple of months ago.

As Espérance have won the African Champions League some weeks ago, they are participating in this year's FIFA Club World Cup. So Ayman Ben Mohamed might get some game time there.
Surprisingly, he's not the only Ex-LOI player at this year's Club World Cup: Eric Molloy got some minutes on the pitch for Team Wellington in their defeat to Al-Ain.

Saw Kristjan Adorjan got a 120th-minute penalty for Virtus Entella away to Genoa in the Coppa Italia last week to make it 3-3 on the night and take it to penalties. Adorjan scored the first in a 7-6 win

Shane McFaul seems to have had a well travelled career. In a way you can say a dream, may not have earned a huge amount of money but traveling the globe playing ball. Recently signed a two year deal with a club in the states I think (?)

Rohan Ricketts worth a mention here. He won the league at Rovers in 2011, including an important winner when they beat Derry late on that season. He's quite the character, but I think he could have done with a better agent.... he played in Moldova, Hungary, Bangladesh, Ecuador, etc

I don't understand how that career is even remotely possible tbh. I don't really do autobiographies, but that's one I might make an exception for

Former Limerick captain/Irish international (just about) Joe Gamble finished his playing career in Brunei before coming back to be a coach. Won the league there too I think. I recall there were rumours he was being paid a relatively huge amount of money to do so, but I don't know how true they were. I presume it must have been substantial enough for him to go that far.

That wikipedia photo is funny, more like an album cover photo.

Crazy career also, a handful of games here and there for clubs you've never heard of. 12 clubs in the last 8 years, and 12 games was the most he played for any of them.

And that after a relatively decent start to his career.

Googling for the player with the most clubs found me this guy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bertie_Brayley 39 clubs in less than 17 years,. but mostly non-league sides. Thats like, what, three months a club? Some players just love to bounce around I suppose.

I saw Brayley a few time when he was doing the Essex footballing circuit. He wasnt that bad considering - being intellectually disabled it isnt a surprise that he didnt last long at clubs. I would seriously question the intellect of the club boards that made him manager!!!

What was his learning disability ? It's a bit harsh to describe someone as 'intellectually disabled' if they had something like dyslexia or other relatively mild condition.

Learning disability eg dyslexia as opposed to intellectually disabled eg IQ less than 75. While sounding similar in title they are different.

Former Sligo and Harps player Pascal Millien has travelled quite a bit as well. According to Wikipedia, he's now in Thailand.
