    Doyler staying!

Doyler quoted as saying he wants to stay at City

Republic of Ireland under-21 international striker Kevin Doyle insists he is not looking to leave Cork City.

Doyle’s good form for the Leesiders since joining St Patrick’s Athletic two years ago, and has transferred his ability to the international scene.

With under-21 strike partner Daryl Murphy targeted for a summer move to Ipswich Town, speculation had swung to the Cork star’s future.

But Wexford lad Doyle is happy to stay at Turners Cross for the remaining two years of his contract – and possibly beyond.

He said: “I’m not looking to leave. I’ve had two good years here and I’m very happy here. I’ve got two years to go on my contract and unless someone makes a bid that Cork accept, I’m not going anywhere. I was disappointed when Pat [Dolan] was sacked as were a lot of others but things happen like that and we’ve got to move on.”

Great news. I have said it so many times before, but I firmly believe that Kevin Doyle is the BEST signing this club has ever made.

Rico said at the fans forum that it was his(rico) job to show Doyler that the best place for him was Cork City, and to do that, he had to show Doyler that the ambition for big things was in the club, that plans to improve facilities were in place and it would happen, and that he could help Kevin become a better player.
I think Doyler's statement is a massive vote of confidence in Rico and B. Lennox.

I just hope that this isn't turned into some sort of anti-Lennox thing if we don't sign Doyler up for the next 20 years within a day or two.....

Now all we need is 4 or 5 goals against the poxy students tonight and it will be a VERY GOOD day for City!..

He could have phrased that a bit better. It could be read as an invitation to other clubs to come waving the cheque book.

Hate to say this, but Doyler might as well have been in England last night, I thought he made no effort whatsoever...
