    Andrew Jackson/Saint Johnstone(another McGeady situation?)

seen a mention of this on the DangerHere board, but no link to anything official, apparently the Scottish FA is up in arms cause another Scottish "wonder-kid", Andrew Jackson(with Irish granny) of Saint Johnstone intends to declare for Ireland under-19 match in France next month, anyone hear anything about this.?

Ireland U-19's don't play France next month, or in France.

What are we gonna do in 20 years from now when all these "grandads" become "great-grandads"?

I say start a programme of enforced mass emigration now in order to prepare.

I wouldn't give this too much thought tbh. What is he 17 or 18? Not much of a "wonderboy" in my opinion if he's not a regular with St Johnstone. Never heard anything about him at all over here which you'd have thought I might have done if there was any fuss about him.

Kinda the same as getting worked up about some 18 year old who hasn't really managed to break into the St Pats team yet. About the same standard really.

there was a write up about him in the herald last night, already played and scored for the St Johnstone first team.

Is the herald available online at all?

I think you've picked the wrong Herald, IP. That's the Glasgow one you link to. I have a sneaking suspicion that tetsujin was referring to the Dublin Evening Herald, the website for which is www.evening-herald.ie.

wow, the Glasgow Herald lets you search their archive for the whole previous 2 days...how generous. btw, I'm not finding anything on this Jackson story, so I think I've been fooled.

    Yup,. that's the one
Unfortunately it's also the homepage of the Independent, and you can't seem to get the Herald's articles
