CL quarter Finals

Chelsea V Bayern Munich
and
AC Milan V Inter Milan

My moneys on Chelsea and AC..

The Milan Derby should be a class game, Shevchenko is back after injury.. Can see him and Crespo doing some damage up front

Duff now has 5 assists in the CL this season, more than anyone else. Amazing considering he is playing the worst football in 2005 that I've ever seen him play in his career. Although, that is certainly down to Mourinho who won't let him run with the bloody ball.

He did ok tonight...but is mot playing great recently. Really should have put his chance away in the second half. He looks like a player who needs a break and he said as much after the China game calling it meaningless. I reckon if he is rested it would do him alot of good. Cant see that happening with Robben out again. Still Duff playin badly is still a lesser player playin at the top of his game. I reckon he'ill be playin in the CL final though and won't that be great for him and for Ireland.

Duff had a good game last night, could have done better on some of his finishes, had a few chances on goal but didn't make much out of them..

Good game Lampard's second goal was class..
Did any of you hear about the note passing incident(s) that they were going on about apparantly UEFA aren't going to investigate it.. Must have been nothing in it but it'll all come out soon enought if Bayern make a complaint they will have to investigate it..
Ballack should never have been given that Peno.. pure dive Carvalho didn't even touch him
Only saw the highlights of the Milan match Inter seemed unlucky to have lost by so much... Missed a few chances

Mourinho seems to want Duff to use his brain more, a bit like Ronaldinho. If you watch Ronaldinho you'll see that when he's facing a player he'd most like look around to pick out a pass. That seems to be what Mourinho wants Duff to be and I'm getting fed up tbh. I used to love watching Duff dribbling by players and if he doesn't get by his man he would get a freekick. That is what made Duff. Now he's a boring bastárd.

My bets:

BAYERN vs CHELSEA
Chelsea qualifies, they got enough quality to control things at Bayern. I see them score an away goal as well.

INTER vs AC MILAN
AC qualifies. I expect a 0-0 draw, typically Italian

PSV vs LYON
I expect Lyon to be the big outsider for the CL victory, but PSV's draw was a huge surprise for me. Still, Lyon has enough quality to gain victory in the Netherlands. My bet: 1-2 for Lyon.

JUVE vs LIVERPOOL
I hope LFC wins, I always disliked Juventus. I bet 1-1 and the Reds going through.

In general, I always said the winner of Chelsea-Barcelona would also win the Champions League, that was a final coming a few rounds too early. I stick to that bet.

The only team being able to take the title away from CFC is, in my opinion, Lyon. Good side with a great collective, good defense and capability of scoring when they need to. But no one pays attention to them, they're the underdogs and outsiders amongst giants Milan, Juve and Chelsea. But the fact that no one seems to expect Lyon as winners can be an advantage for them.

Lyon and PSV are the two weakest teams in it at this point.

CL quarter Finals

Juve have a proven home record. 1-0 is well within their scope. I expect them to get this at least and then go on to win CL.

Vega can you post something with a bet more dept than a short one liner. Why bother posting at all. I've like the look of Lyon for a while. They are an excellent unit, with each man working very hard for his team mate. I think they will get by PSV on away goals, this means they'll play AC in the semis I think. I think they will give them a game but Milan are too strong for everyone. Chelsea are very good but Milan are excellent. A real quality side, if anyone beats them they will have alot of luck on their side.

Was thinking the same thing I defo think it will be Milan Chelsea in the final even though I predicted on another thread that it would be Juve Milan. It would be hilarious if Crespo did score the winner.

Please no Italian winner ! Milan is the best side from that country, but still.

Lyon the weakest ?? Great collective, few players that can make a difference, ... I think they can be the big surprise and win this competition.

Gerrard is out of the game on Wednesday with an injury picked up at Man City . Looks like they will have to play Alonso even though he has only played one half of a reserve game since December.

Put a few yoyos on them myself at 11-1. It's my heart ruling my head but they have surprised me in nearly every Euro match they have played this season and their performances have borne no resemblance to those in the Premiership.

Juve 0 - 0 Liverpool (1-2 agg)

Don't you just love it!

They all said we wouldn't score against Juve's superb defence, yet we ripped them apart at Anfield. They all said we wouldn't\couldn't keep a clean sheet in Turin, yet we never looked like conceding......with a patch-work side and without our best player.......Bring on Chelsea to ****, personally I can't see us losing to them 5 times this season. We'll have Cisse and Alonso fully fit by then. We're going to do Chelsea

Bring it on!

Well either Duffer or young Steve Finnan will now play in a Champions League final (injuries/suspensions etc permitting), which is great news for us as we dont have too many players who've experienced that sort of pressure at such a high level.

I thought finnan had a great game last night. I was really impressed. He hardly put a foot wrong he did pick up a Yellow card last night though. if he gets another in the Chelski games does he miss the final? Congrats to Liverpool who keep defying the odds. Hope the meeja keep up this nonsense about them not being good enough. In europe they are!
