    Foot.ie - Soundtrack To A Season

If we had a double album, soundtrack for Foot.ie, what song would you include and why?

We'll assume that we have 22 tracks per CD so that should give us plenty scope to accomodate everyone.

    I'll start with

Track 1 - U2 - Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own
There have been many incidents on foot.ie where the general good will of others has helped some people to do something or go somewhere which was only possible as a result of that help.
The Cork City FC and Ireland away trips being good examples.

    Full track listing.
    CD One
Track 01 - U2 - Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own
    Track 02 - ABBA - Dancing Queen
Track 03 - Sultans Of Ping F.C. - Give Him A Ball And A Yard of Grass
Track 04 - Saw Doctors - N17/To Win Just Once
Track 05 - Libertines - Campaign Of Hate
Track 06 - Half Man Half Biscuit - Friday Night And The Gates Are Low
Track 07 - The Undertones - Teenage Kicks
Track 08 - Morrissey - You're the one for me, Fatty
Track 09 - The Stone Rosses - This is the one
Track 10 - The Smiths - Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now
Track 11 - The Foundations - Build me up buttercup
Track 12 - The Coral - Pass It On
Track 13 - Christy Moore - Joxer Goes to Stuttgart
Track 14 - Republic of Ireland Squad 1990 - Put 'Em Under Pressure
Track 15 - The Futureheads - Trying Not to Think About Time
Track 16 - Bee Gees - You Win Again
Track 17 - The White Stripes - 7 Nation Army

Track 3) Sultans Of Ping F.C. - Give Him A Ball And A Yard of Grass

IMO the best football song about, driving, energetic stuff. Rumoured to be written about Dave Barry, Cork CIty Legend.

"A man can have no greater love than to give 90 minutes to his friends"

    Indeed

*edit*changed to track three as the corner got in there seconds ahead of me....
Whatever it was I am sure it was better than my plan to get out of this by pretending to be mad. I mean, who would have noticed another madman around here?

I'll allow it provisionally but you might need a better argument if a more worthy song is submitted.

Now, now Eire06, this is my thread.
Dancing Queen is relevant because of a trip to Sweden by a number of posters on this forum.
I've never heard N17 being sung anywhere but have been informed that it's popular at the All Ireland Ploughing Championships.

The cynics can add "away from home", instead of "would be enough"

    Seriously?

I thought I read an interview at the time saying it was about the boy Clough.
