I would be very surprised if Limerick come back after this.

Dark days ahead in Shannonside with a return to bottom half of First Division and playing in front of three men and a dog.

To be fair, you only have to look at clubs like Dundalk and Waterford to know that there’s always a way back from the dark depths of the graveyard.

You can add Cork to that list too. There’s always a way out.

Congrats to Harps, have to say they earned it over the course of the season, always a good addition to the league and I'm all for more Ollie Horgan.

Want to do the cliched thing of saying maybe a season in the FD to take stock and go again will do the relegated team good but it does look particularly bleak for Limerick at the moment. Everything about the place seems to have gone toxic. The upside is that the off season is a long one so hopefully they can get themselves sorted before February.

Congratulations to Harps on their promotion.
Good to have them back in the Premier Div once again.
Sorry we lost a Munster club in Limerick.
Hopefully they'll regroup & come back up again soon.

delighted for the harps lads sad to hear about limerick the state they are in. one consolation is that I should be able to finally make it into Markets field as its the only ground that I have not being in. I have being in Rathbane, ground at railway station and even Thomond Park for an ireland match.

was discussing this on the section o messager page every ground in the first division can be accessible by train next season so I think one or two train trips may be feasible! I can never in previous years remember this at all!!

think Finn Harps is the only club in the loi not to have a train station!
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

Great night for us,in a strange way Paddy going off helped us I think,he brought Borg into midfield who is strong, athletic and gave Timlin the impetus to push on.
Limerick are a mess ,shame because the Markets field is a nice set up and looked great with a big crowd, serious questions have to be asked of those running the show their and what has been done with the 6 million I heard Pat OSullivan has put in there,Ollie would win the Champions league with 6 million!!!!!!
Irish by birth ,Harps by the grace of god.

Lot of misspent money for sure. Whatever about how pure his motives were, O'Sullivan has listened to the wrong people over and over again. Still going on and on about Bruff even while we're being relegated, it's all a bit sad. Also stating to the press that no supporters group have given the club any financial support, like LIFT weren't handing over funds last season.

Barrett apologised to the fans for the display, but went on to say he was only looking to get to 0-0 at half-time before everything went to pieces. We were already chasing the game before a ball was kicked last night! Also blamed the wind for the long ball game that went nowhere, but Limerick have resorted to long ball before that game.

That's our last game in the Market's Field for a while I'd say, and I'm not especially sorry. The rent is too high, the people in charge have been difficult to deal with (putting it mildly) and Jackman will do.

I'm so confused as to how they decided the way to deal with the wind was to launch the ball high.......into the wind. Surely keeping it on the floor takes the wind out of it.

George Lee LEDP thinks he owns it but it's belonged to LEDP paid for by jp mcmanus for Limerick fc to play there

I thought it was bought by JP (through the LEDP) as a way to help out the greyhound board with their move to the new stadium on the Dock Road?

Limerick FC getting to pay there being a nice (but increasingly not-so-nice) side effect of the purchase.

The greyhound thing was part of it I think.

Either way, yes, we have to pay rent, and it isn't an amount that a lot of people are happy with. Even O'Sullivan, who I don't think has ever said a negative word about the MF arrangements otherwise, complained about the price being asked for when he wanted to put the WNL team in there.

The rent is over €2K per game apparently, does anyone know what the likes of Derry and Rovers pay for their grounds?

That would include use of the conference facilities, bar, etc I imagine and probably 50 games through all the senior and underage sides. From what I heard, Limerick pretty much get to play on the pitch and that's it.
