Hoban is class, and deserves all the credit hes getting. We were linked with him last summer and the talk was that he was asking for too much money and that ourselves Rovers and Dundalk all balked at his request. He has shown he was worth every penny and in hindsight I'd wished we'd backed a truck load of cash up to his house.

This record stuff is showing how little our national broadcaster knows about the League of Ireland and cares about accuracy. This would have been a great opportunity to say "Hoban has scored the most goals in a League of Ireland season since..." and show how long our league has been around and shed some light on a forgotten corner of the leagues history.
Presumably the dividing line here in Ireland would be pre and post 1985

Almost inevitably, we can't keep a clean sheet and concede two from set pieces.

Bray have won a third of their points against us.
If Sligo win on Friday, we'll finish eighth.

The league is finishing very poorly this season, dead rubbers galore, lots of average/poor sides caring very little about their performance,if the 10 team league is meant to improve things its hard to see it.....

Exactly the argument people have against a 16 team Premier Division too.

Even the top european leagues have plenty of dead rubbers for the last few weeks. Having a smaller league actually mitigates this because it leaves less clubs idling along in mid-table.

I think having 2 10-team divisions has been an improvement. Better players playing against better players more often and the 1st division has certainly been a lot more interesting than it's been for a long time.
