    Come on Portadown

We should be taking more notice than usual of the IFA Cup semi final results tommorrow.

Portadown are playing Glentoran and City fans should be hoping for a Portadown win.

They are well adrift in third in the league and well ahead of the fourth place team so if they lose the semi final all they would have to concentrate on for the rest of the season would be the Setanta Cup.

Their next two Setanta Cup games are at home so if they win them they would only need a draw against us in their last game to go through.

On the other hand if they are in a Cup final they'll be playing Ballymena or Larne and would be hot favourites and might be tempted to mind their players for the Cup final or least the cup final would be in the back of their minds.

Might try and catch Final Score at 5.00pm tommorrow.

Eh, he said if they "win their next two home games" which INCLUDES us?
You're still a bit bleary from the long trip......

We should go all out to beat them up there, because if they then draw with $hels again, we go through with a home game to spare.....

After the disappointing loss at Dungannon in midweek Roy Coyle made wholesale changes to the Glentoran line up. Back in his preferred right back slot was influential defender Colin Nixon in place of Sean Ward while Pat McGibbon passed fit and started alongside Chris Walker in the heart of the back line.

Tim McCann was also replaced with Shaun Holmes starting in left midfield and in the middle of the park Paul Leeman joined Gavin Melaugh. It was up front though that Coyle sprung arguably the biggest surprise as the Irish League’s leading goalscorer Michael Halliday was replaced by Stephen Parkhouse with the boss perhaps feeling that the big striker’s strength would provide the impressive Portadown defence with the same problems as it did Longford Town in the Setanta Cup – the last time Parkhouse started.
    See here.

    Good result for us.
Another "slugging match" on Tuesday will add more wear and tear on them.

Hopefully they (Portadown) win and have the Final in the back of their minds when we play them.

Portadown beat Glentoran 1-0 in the Cup semi final replay and will play Larne in the final.

They will have to win that if want to be in Setanta Cup 2006.

Yeah, in the league they're around 10 points behind Linfield and Glentoran with 5 or 6 games to play

    Come on Portadown

The IFA Cup final is usually held in late April or early May. They usually pick a Saturday that doesn't clash with either the FA or SFA finals otherwise the IFA Cup Final would not draw much of a crowd bar die-hards. Try looking up their website, www.ifa.co.uk I think it should be posted there.

thats site is pure dung, you wont find anything useful on it!

Porta are already in the Setanta next year as Larne have not applied for a UEFA Lisence so even if we were to lose we would go through instead on Larne.....the final is 7th of May, and our match at the Cross is the 16th as far as i know so we should be will rested with the Irish Cup out of they by then! could well be the deciding match!
    ....Whos the Daddy??
