Ireland U17's beat Northern Ireland 2-1,Stokes got the first on the stroke of half time.Stephen Gleeson got the second after a good run by Alan Judge.Eddie Nolan was amazing at the back for us,it was like watching Paul McGrath all over again.Stokes looked dangerous throughout the match,as did Keith Treacy.Judge also produced a good second half performance and there was also a very good performance at right back by Scott Davies.Overall Ireland were never under great pressure(mainly thanks to Eddie Nolan),but our centre midfielders never dominated the game.

The Republic of Ireland Under 17s lost 2-1 to Serbia and Montenegro meaning they need to beat England 2-0 on Wednesday to reach the UEFA Championships in Italy.

A 2-0 victory over England would ensure Ireland finish top of the group on goal difference, having already beaten Northern Ireland 2-1, to reach the finals for the first time since 1998.

Ireland started the game brightly taking the lead through Anthony Stokes but missed plenty of chances to seal the victory before Serbia came storming back scoring an equaliser before Robert Bayly was sent off.

With just ten men, Ireland faced an uphill battle and eventually conceded a second goal leaving them with the difficult task of getting a two-goal victory over hosts England at Walsall on Wednesday.

After seeing all 3 matches the players that really impressed me were Eddie Nolan (CB) and Scott Davies (RB).Nolan looks a fantastic prospect,a natural leader, composed on the ball and reads the game so well.Davies is a good allround full back,he was very good going forward and good at defending.Stokes was a real let down, seemed to be to much of an individual and not work for his teamates.James Ryan (RW and CM) looked a good prospect,I was told that he was playing with a back injury.Stephen Gleeson(CM) AND Micheal Spillane(CB) looked o.k as well.

Shame Owen Garvan was not playing,I felt we needed some composure and strength in the centre of midfeild.Too many times we got over run in midfield and it was a shame cause It restricted Gleeson and Ryan going forward.
We did have a very small midfield and attack compared to Serbia and England thou.

Great goal by James Ryan plus he was unlucky that the free kick didn't go in.

My ears are still ringing from the high pitched singing from the home support.
Its crazy to see people be what society wants them to be but not me.
