BTW, because of poxy Longford and their seeming ability to be able to change the fixtures whenever they feel like it, I have to miss this game too.....These f*ckers must change more games than the rest of the league put together.....![]()
We didnt want to play it on Saturday night because of the Setanta on Monday nextOriginally Posted by patsh
We played more games than anyone else last season, 51 or something like that, and we only changed 2, the first game against Bohs and the last game against Drogs, both due to the weather so I think we have the right to change a game or 2

We have played 3 games in 6 days, you have already moved 2 league games this season, thats a 66% ratio, and the Derry game was changed purely because it suited you, and you managed to have the letter of the law on your side. As for City, we seem to have to always play you on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.....Originally Posted by DE TOWN

What other team wouldnt have changed it when you had a player away on international duty plus 6 other players injuredOriginally Posted by patsh

I know, that is pretty bad form but its just the way things work outOriginally Posted by patsh

The point is that you changed a game because of the injuries, Paisley was just a handy excuse. Wasn't he suspended for the opening game, but you had to play that because you did not have that handy excuse?Originally Posted by DE TOWN

What has that to do with you exactly patsh? Last season or the season before you changed your game because John O'Flynn was called up for Ireland U21s, that's right just one player. Paisley being absent on top of our injuries (6) picked up in our first two games meant we'd be mad to play it if we didn't have to. Like it or not we didn't have to so we didn't. Thursday is harsh on Cork I'd have thought Friday might be better but I seem to remember ye switching our game down there last season to a Monday night from a Friday. Point is sh*t like this happens all the time, no point getting all victimised about it.

yes, he was basically just a handy excuse but every other club in the league would have done the same, even your beloved CityOriginally Posted by patsh

I could ask what exactly has a City forum got to do with you, a Longford fan, but I actually believe you are entitled to express your opinion. So why do you have a probelm with me expressing mine?
I'm not getting victimised about it, but I like to go to as many away games as I can, and there ALWAYS seems to be some messing about with Longford.
OK fair enough, you just seemed to be taking it personally.I don't have a problem with you expressing your opinion (even if it's wrong) I think 'always seems to be some messing about' is unfair. It's not our fault we had success in cups last year and the year before (rememeber we went all the way to the final in the league cup in both seasons too) forcing us to move games .That's why they were moved FAI Cup, League Cup and UEFA Cup commitments. As I pointed out ye've moved games on us before too, it happens in the Eircom League I don't see the point in getting worked up about it
