Hi there:
Should be quite a few of us heading up. The SC will be running buses to a lot of games this year but we have not tied down all the details yet. So watch this space. It's a good 1.5 hrs drive to St Mels lovely area of town

Is there many making the trip up tomorrow night. How long a drive is Athlone 2 hours??

I was searching the athlone site there for directions to Golden Island/St Mels but could find none. Is it a handy spot to locate?
Directions are in the extras part of the site.
You should come in on the Dublin Road. The first thing you come to is a big roundabout at the Kilmartin N6 Centre [Woodies, McDonalds etc, can't really miss it]. There are two main roads off the roundabout that are both basically in front of you. Take the by-pass one to the right. Get off again at the second exit, and turn left at the end of the slip road. You immediately go into another roundabout, which you head straight through. A couple of hundred yards down the road you come to a level crossing. Turn left immediately after going over that into Sarsfield Square. It's only a small 'square' housing estate - find your way to the other entrance/exit, which is under a low, narrow railway bridge. Don't go under the bridge, there is a laneway to the left just before it that takes you down to the ground. You'll see the lights and stuff beforehand.
