You've been drinking since you were 12?? I am 25, 26 this year, and I didn't have much interest in drinking until I was 18. I never black out. Could be cos I wouldn't drink too heavily. I get a bit smily-er when drinking and when I feel I have had enough I stop. Most people I know, when they feel they have had enough they hit shots!

I do get sleepy fast if I drink very slowly.

Drinking during the day wrecks me. End up shattered, and fit for nothing.
I didnt really get into drinking till I was 17, and started working in a pub. Then it was all down hill.

Good point. I did that a few Saturdays ago. Got a corporate freebie at Chelsea. Cained the wine, but had a big feed so thought i would be alright, and yet by 9pm I was shattered, and it was home time for me

Played poker a few saturdays and had a few drinks with it. I managed to stay out all night, but I have noticed that if I was to go out at 5 or 6, that by 1 I am getting very tired whereas I use to be full of life at 4 in the morning few years ago. I think I jjust couldn't be bothered I love my sleep enough. Lately I am starting to dread the morning at around 12 that night cos I know I'll be in pieces

to be honest i think you try and make yourself stay awake at those sort of things i.e. you pace yourself well and set out. but it doesnt always work...

"yet by 9pm I was shattered, and it was home time for me "

aye, for me i think not being funny its down to fitness in a way, cos im a lazy aul fooker and unfit and i get sleepy and wrecked, but my mates who are fit and used to getting up early and playing soccer/gaelic matches are well able to do this, im not and i do think its routine/fitness comes into it.

was home for a christening 3 weeks ago, spent a bomb, (27 euro for 4 red bulls and a vodka aloneee, rip off dublin!!!!) but was fooked by about 10:30 went to a club and was just too tired to speak and couldnt be aresed, and went home shortly afterwards, but me cousins/mates were well able like they kept going and were well able stay out and see the night through.

With me, im always shattered at the weekend. Im usually not able for going out during the week (At the very best I get home from work at 7.30pm). so by the weekends, im too tired for huge sessions. Was different a few years ago, my job didnt matter, and everyone was up for a sesh.

Now it seems to be so much effort now not only going out, but trying to co-ordinate all my mates to go out too.

We all live in Crouch End/Hornsey/Wood Green - Its just that most them are all coupled up, and trying to get them out is a nightmare.

Its hitting the point now were myself and my mate go out and if any of our friends make it out its a shock/surprise. People forget that they are not banned from going out cos they have a gf or bf. It is very annoying when you're mates go missing for months cos they are "cleaning the house" or some lame ass excuse like that. You should be able to go out for a few hours (and not drink if you so wish) and if you can't I think a Life review is required

Spot on. Im not having a go at my mates, people move on, things change. when we were 18/19 without fail, every week we were all out together. Even during uni, we always made time to hook up when we were back in London. Now we all live round the corner from each other, but they tend to have other things on. I think they might all be growing up and getting sensible

It is growing up as far as they are concerned. For them, the whole settling down thing is what they want. If that means less nights out for them, then its really whatever makes them happy, cos thats all that matters at that really matters at the end of the day

Me on the other hand, im still just about making the most of being 22

settling down at that age is fine, the problem is you may be "sure" this is who you want to settle down with and cut the nights out etc, then you end up 25/26 and on your own, without many friends as they were left behind when you were "settling down".

again being happy is the most important thing, but i would have thought being happy ultimately meant having your friends, family and significant other all a big part of your life.

I know what your saying, and im inclined to agree, hence, me not settling down. But what can you do other than be around if things go pear shaped for your mates. In an ideal world, you have your frineds, family and significant other all getting on great guns. not always the reality though.

Everyones different. but the 3 mates in particular im thinking about will be friends for life. We lasted going to different unis, and now for 2 of them, living in a whole other parts of the country. things change, and we never see each other compared to what we used to, but I know they will be my friends for a good while cos when we do meet up, its like nothings changed, a huge big sesh and a night of laughter. just a pity its not as often as id like

Yeah it seems true what they say as in the older you get the harder it is for the longer sessions, or maybe its just that the body system is a bit wrecked from my younger years. I say that as in i'm old but i'm not even 25.
I used to make up drinks at a bar(if i had money) and name them. The one most famous for me is the Goo Goo Juice, Its a mixture of Double Vodka, Double Gin, Smirnoff Ice and Red Bull in a pint glass(mainly niteclub drink). I swore a year ago that i would stop this crazyness but i had one on Sunday Nite .
I'd say on Usual i used to go out Fri/Sat/Sun(making the odd monday morning in work) without fail and then probably 2 others out of Mon,Tue,Wed,thur. Cant do it anymore though. Maybe having a kid is the best thing to happen to me for more than one reason.
I do find however that with Guinness, i can have quite a few more beers than the chemically enhanced pints like bud etc.

BTW have any of you heard of the famous Goo Goo Juice ?????

Had something similar in UL called The Soup, peach schnapps, vodka, cointreau and a can of red bull, served in a pint glass. Gets you good and plastered! One of my mates had 8 one night and we had to carry him home.

would go out 2 or 3 nights a week.. On an average night I'd drink about 6 bottles of coors light and about 4 vodka and red bulls in the club to liven things up..
or if at dinner about 2 bottles of wine..
Never get really drunk.. I think it is disgraceful to see girls hammered falling all over the place puking ect.. ect. happened once to me and I was so ashamed didn't drink for weeks never again.. Know people will disagree with me but IMO theres nothing worse than seeing a girl completely hammered..

I like getting drunk and having a laugh but know my limits..

I go out 4 nights a week give or take a night depending on the mood im in, usually thursday to sundays and maybe one mid week night just for a couple(in the process of trying to cut that down to 2 nights though).

A normal weekend night would be anywhere between 10 and 15 pints and then maybe go on southern comfort and red depending on how much of a session i want to make of it (swap pints for cans of dutchy when things are bad money wise) - though if ive work the next day I try not to have more than 10 pints.
