    Question Irish League Referee Verdict

Well what did people think of Northern refs performance at Turner Cross last night?

Hard game to referee alright, would have to say at fault for the sendings off? Interesting to see that eL ref allowed Collins from Portadown bump heads with shel$ player & not even book either whereas IL ref just went straight for red.

Don't know how 2nd city goal disallowed but suppose ref has to go with linesman.

Thought ref also very quick with yellow cards but suppose better to be like that to encourage attacking football?

The one thing about the Setanta cup is the eL refs performance will be watched and noted. So they can either .... get it right !! (stay on the chair people ) and at least though games will be OK ...... or ..... the y will be true to form and all eyes will see exactly what we have to put up with.

Tought he was ok. Bit quick with yellows.

Things got a bit heated towards the end and didn't see sending off incidents properly.
    I'm what? I'm ants at a picnic?

The red card decisions were a joke, both should be rescinded. On that alone, he had a terrible game but was far too whistle-happy as well. Up there with the worst in the EL.
We're not arrogant, we're just better.

Actually thought that he was grand and left a good bit of stuff go. Ok the red cards and the goal were terrible decisions but he was grand otherwise, and FAIR! Something that you dont see too often!
As I say, we're just young & a bit nieve.

I thought he had a good game apart from the two red cards. Maybe he was a bit quick with the yellows, but it wasn't an easy game to referee.

I just like that fact that the GBH didn't work for Shels so plan B was used and City were always going to be better against that kinda game, get it on the deck and burn them into the ground.

Hoof-ah-rama is very much plan a at the moment

Thought he was poor, has anyone actually come up with a reason why Corks goal was disallowed? Two poor decisions on the cards too.

re. the disallowed goal, I think there was a suggestion that Billy Woods was offside when the free kick was taken, but he wasn't interfering with play. It should not have been disallowed, no way. I've seen it 3 times and it was fine. One bit of credit I will give the blind **** of a lino is that the flag was up early.

I dunno ... the footage on eL weekly wasn't good enough to tell really and i was hoping that would tell a bit more cos i couldn't understand it at the game.

They seem as good/bad a ref as what we have. Only trigger happier on the cards front.

What do you all think of his use of the advantage clause? I thought it was abysmal! Apart from that I thought, surprisingly, he was just as bad as the eL refs.
Football is life. The rest is mere detail...

Seen Gamble sending off again & can't for life of me see why he was sent off. Bumping into Harris & Moore would hardly warrant a yellow yet alone a red card.
