He looked decent earlier in the season for Burnley. I know he got a few minutes today, but it's really time for him to get back out playing regularly again.
A Championship loan would be a very good career move.
Linked with a loan move to Preston North End. Has been offered a new contract at Burnley, but would likely fall behind Nathan Collins in the pecking order if the Collins transfer was to go through.
Other unnamed loan interest as well apparently - presumably all from the Championship.

Should get a loan, kid is class, we need him playing, he is 24
Starts with Kevin Long against Bournemouth in the FA Cup. 1 down at the time of posting. Burnley often out of this competition early and Dyche seems to have scant regard for it so hardly a surprise if they are dumped out this evening.
Dunne has been offered a contract by Burnley, but Dyche says he needs work to be able to cope with PL football. "I think he can handle the rest of football, I believe he could deal with the Championship and deliver". (Lancashire Live, 4 June). Seven appearances for Burnley in 4 years, 24 come October -- time to move on?
Time for him to move on I think. Burnley apparently looking to sign two centre backs this summer and Kevin Long will likely remain there as a squad player so he's only going to fall further down the pecking order. He has shown he is capable at a lower level and will have offers from the Championship, League 1 or Scotland so could move with a view to maybe getting back to the top division once he has a couple of solid years of first team football behind him, similar to what Egan did.
Looks like he's to turn down Burnley's offer of a new contract:

A Championship move is a realistic ambition.
That's the right decision at his age. He'll see Collins coming in anyway and will know he has no chance there. Hopefully he can find a Championship club or top end League 1 team. Even one of the better Scottish teams would make sense - he did well at Hearts on loan previously.
Best of luck to him! Time to move on. Hopefully will get a nice championship move. He’s had mixed experiences on loan, now that he’s a bit maturer and has some premiership experience…u never know what might happen with a season of consistent football
Lancashire Live (23 June) also expect Dunne to leave, despite having been offered a new one-year contract, and again speculate on interest from Preston NE. With Dyche keen on Nat Phillips (Liverpool) and/or Joe Worrell (Notts Forest), where does that leave Kevin Long?
Dunne now linked with Swansea City; talks reported to have begun, according to the Burnley Express (25 June).
Reportedly undergoing a medical at QPR:

Again, this seems to raise question marks over the future of Masterson.
Move confirmed.

Good move, best of luck to him! Masterson unlucky with injury with Swindon last season. He will need to drop down to league one or two to get a full senior season under his belt, on loan again or permanently
Best of luck to Dunne on this one. Good move indeed. Positive that the manager seems to like a back three and fancies Dunne all across the line.
When you look at his career to date compared to Masterson's, there's a stark difference in terms of experience. Dunne is a year older but has experience in most levels of the English leagues, as well as Scotland. Similar to Dara O'Shea. I know some of us keep beating Masterson over the head with this but it becomes quite obvious when you see Dunne come into QPR and maybe above Masterson. Both joined huge clubs initially too in Man United and Liverpool.
Jimmy Dunne touted as MOTM today after a clean sheet taking QPR up to 5th in the table.
Seems to be finally establishing himself as a first team regular - only just 24, could be a very handy squad player for us if he keeps learning from his experiences.
