Is there any evidence that he is considering a switch?

Over on ybig, a guy claims his brother in law knows one of Dunne's family and there is no hope of it happening!
Must be true so! Seriously though, it just doesn't sound credible.
There was one article, in one paper, with no quotes from the player, or either football association, with some glaring factual errors, and he's played for Ireland since that was published.

Dear Lord. Self awareness is at a low here.
Returned to Burnley early. His loan spell expires in January but he got injured in training (ankle, 6 weeks) so he has gone back. Levein's quote suggests its for good.

This quote makes it look like he will return
However, he could be back at Tynecastle with a deal agreed in principle with the Clarets for the loan to be extended until the end of the season.

Craig Levein to speak to Dyche about extending Dunne's loan until the end of the season: https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.c...nded-1-4849249
Looks like he won't be seeing the second half of the season out with Hearts after they announced the end of his loan on their website. He responded with a tweet thanking the club and supporters: https://twitter.com/jimmydunne70/sta...862419968?s=19
Talk under the tweet that he may be off to Sunderland for the rest of the season.

Rte speculating he's off to the Championship.
A but surprise he is only going to League One.

Still young for a centre half, they're probably paying 100% of his wages and he should start. He can get Championship exposure next season. I agree though, would have liked to see him test himself there this season.
Sunderland a different type of League 1 team though. Playing in front of big crowds and the pressure that comes with that to win is good experience in a different way. Also, if he shows well and becomes a starter there's every chance they could look to make the deal permanent if they were promoted.
He is really working through the football ladder. Last season conference then second half of season league 2. Scotland and league 1 this season. So hopefully good championship loan next summer. Was really under the radar as a youth player very rarely played for us and unremarkable at man utd

19-year-old striker made the bench for Sunderland today. Didn't seem to be tearing up trees underage (would be well down my list of potential forwards) so this is a pleasant surprise. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/46766568#tab-0
Your instinct was correct. This was in fact 21 year old Jimmy Dunne who was given squad number 30 and made the first team squad today
