In fairness he won some great headers and had a few decent tackles although he looked a bit shaky, especially trying to run the ball out of defence. Sometimes hes actually better off hoofing it!!

    Here Here.........

Can we simply call a truce on slagging off our own players: this is a team game and not one of our players is without fault but as a team they're absolutley brilliant. Behan, Doyler, Fenn, JOF, Dan Murray etc will all win us games with individual contributions this year and they'll all make mistakes but it's the team/Squad that will win us the League and Setanta Cup. We need them all so let's get beind them all!! C'mon City.[/QUOTE]

Here Here..... Cant believe some people like to call themselves supporters with the amount of slaggin that goes on. Is there any other team that has fans on this website, that like to slag their players and other fans for that matter as much as cork city fans do.

    SUPPORT

    To argue in favor of;
    To endure; tolerate,
To hold in position so as to keep from falling,
To bear the weight of, especially from below

Let this be a lesson to all of you who like to call themselves Supporters and then slag off your own club........

Oooops. Did I not say that I reserve the right to change my views on this particular issue subject to any reason I see fit in the future and will not be held accountable for any particular view not yet expressed with relation to various members of the Cork City FC squad and/or management which may arise out of unforseen circumstances and that these as of yet unsaid views not fit in with my wish for CCFC to win the Setanta Cup. In accordance with said view, I wish to unreservedly declare that this particular view expires on CCFC winning the Setanta Cup this year or in the event that they are knocked out before the final match in the tournament takes place and ends until further notice.

    Thank you.

c'mon lads can you genuinely justify what georgie did.i mean he's an absolute joy to watch and in him you probable have the best midfielder in the league but that's a step to far regardless of who it's against

i mean if it was a shels player that done this i would be up in arms and would be calling for severe punishment by the club despite the fact he is one of our own players.

No, we can't, but Shels got lots of decisions their way and Gamble's red was IMO unjustified also.

georgie saw an oppurtunity for payback and took it

It was a strange incident overall, IMO. Immediately before Georgie hit the deck, Billy linked with him down the right, and Georgie was over the ball, ready to cross, but not rushing into it. Cool out, like. Then this Shels thug takes the legs from under him. Not sure who it was, maybe Rogers, but not Creepy Crawley. Why would the thug try to bop him at that stage, when it was Georgie who would probably want to retaliate?
For me the positives of the game were:
    1. We did not fall back to defend our lead. That is what cost us 2 points against Bray. Instead we went raiding for another.
    2. The Shed sang their throats out.
    3. Michael Devine did not have to make a save all night.
    4. Glen Crowe jogging around for an hour, not doing much, then getting subbed. Dream team my a r s e.
    5. Williams, a really good keeper, being beaten three times in the second half; the goal, the disallowed goal, and Doyler's header onto the bar.
    6. (My favourite!) The faces of the Shels players when they realised that the ref was NEUTRAL.
    The negatives
    1. Regardless of how well Dan played for much of the game, you can not afford to lose possession when you are a defender. Captain or not, I think he has to go.
    2. The build up to kick-off was muted.
    3. My fellow Donie Forders were very quiet, even by their own hushed standards.
    4. The size of the crowd. Another 3000 would probably have come out if the sun was shining. Not calling them sunshine supporters, . . . Actually I am.
    5. The whistles in the shed were really off-putting. I can't understand why the stewards allowed this to go on. It could easily have affected players too.

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

Last season City had the second best defensive record in the league with 32 goals conceded [just 2 behind Bohs]. Dan Murray was ever present in the centre of defense and he chipped in with a few important goals too: 2 against Malmo in the InterToto and 1 against Drogs in a crucial end of season clash. He's had a shaky start this season but we still haven't lost a match, only conceded 1 goal and we beat Shels for the first time since Nov. 2002!! I don't think you're statement stands up thecorner nor is it helping City's cause. Rico will decide if Dan Murray is good enough to play in the team just as Pat Dolan did before him. C'mon City.

First half, Danny Murphy had the ball, just as he passes it... legs hacked from under him... but the ball goes to Georgie so the ref waves advantage... just as Georgie passes it... legs hacked... ball rolls to Kearney... ref plays advantage... Kearney runs towards the box, in on goal.... legs hacked and bowled over... ref blows for a free... three City players on the ground from one passage of play. You don't need to feign injury playing these Orcs!

even with the advantage rule the ref should have come back and booked all 3 players.
