If Spurs get bumped down to the Europa he might just get a chance there, although Pochettino might take it more seriously if he sees it as a route back to the Champions League.
The fact that he is even training with the first team at that age is very exciting.
Great to see Parrot in that environment ahead of a Champions League match. I just wonder if Robbie Keane’s connections with Spurs will see Parrot fast-tracked into our senior squad.
After all, Mick gave a debut to a certain 17 year old once upon a time and it worked out pretty well: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qNp--iX8FWQ
Was thinking the same myself earlier, but Micks circumstances and brief are a lot different this time around, its an immediate rescue job rather than a rebuild with time. It'll be be interesting to see if he does involve Parrot or Connolly come March over fellas like O'Brien for example.
Plus Robbie had the best part of a season in the second tier senior football under his belt by the time of his debut, scoring a few already. Obafemi is the current focus for our teenage strikers. As of now I would say our forward line should be Long, Robinson, Obafemi (if he holds his place at Southampton) plus 1 or 2 from McGoldrick, Maguire and Hogan. Of course this could change in the coming months if Connolly were to get a couple of FA Cup goals in January and start playing first team football or Parrott appears in Spurs' first team (either in the Europa League or FA Cup)
Agreed regarding Obafemi being the focus. Connolly was born in 2000, Idah in 2001 and Parrott in 2002 (all in Jan or Feb) so that would seem the most natural order of things in terms of those lads coming through. But Parrott seems to have the natural ability to kick on earlier than we could expect.
U19 player Ali Reghba was an unused substitute for Leicester City U23's againt Brighton last night: https://www.premierleague.com/match/...on-v-leicester

Only a few U23 games tonight but there was one significant one from our point of view. Southampton won 2-1 against Newcastle thanks to welcome goals assist from Jonathan Afolabi and Will Smallbone with Afolabi credited with the assist for Smallbone's goal. Both turn 19 early next year some while they may be behind Obafemi in their career paths, they both still have plenty of time to develop: https://www.premierleague.com/match/...on-v-newcastle
Smallbone played underage for England didn't he? I remember reading before his mother is a Kilkenny woman. Solid link. Hopefully he's safe.
never played for England as far as I can remember so certainly free to play for either. The doubt here is because he wasn't in our 19 s qualifiers squad in Oct. He did play in a friendly in Sept though. Hasn't Been involved with England 19s either this season. Hasn't played competitively for us or England at any age
