I think its pretty good, its got a very good sound to it. Sounds very different to anything Megadeth has ever done before. Couple of very good songs on it. Its obviously not back to the Peace Sells sort of sound but its very good in its own way.Originally Posted by Thomo
Their best release since Countdown To Extinction and maybe even Rust In Peace IMO.

Would be interesting to hear Blixa singing Kylie's part in the wild rose.

I bought it the other day and while it's hard to really judge it after only a couple of listens it seems to be a cut above the usual B-sides and rarities releases, (i.e it's not the dregs that wasn't good enough to get on the albums).Originally Posted by noby

I'll probably get it alright. It's just I was looking at the track list on amazon, and I already have a few of the songs anyway.

Just got the new Moby album and it's great.
Also "Belfast" by Mago de Oz, a Spanish metal band who plays a cross of spanish metal with celtic infulences.
Do you believe in Miracles?
Last 12 months, lets see:
Hell is for Heroes - Neon Handshake
Red House Painters - Red House Painters (Rollercoster)
The Killers - Hot Fuss
Tom McRae - Either Tom McRae or Blood Like Rain
Declan O'Rourke
Bright Eyes - Its Morning.....

They are tremendous in my eyes. Problem is most people find them depressing/sad/dreary. Personally I love them. I purposely have not gotten the other albums yet because I will not have given enough time to this one then!!
I meant to add The Chemical Brothers - Push the Button was very good to me whilst I was coding. Pony Club - Family Business as well and Mark Geary - Ghosts.
I got The Best of Luke Kelly and Planxty live at Vicar St. 2004 from Santa and enjoy both of them.
Have to say that two other gifts, U2 - How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb and Keane - Hopes and Fears are really good too.
Have Boot Disk, will travel
Bought Green Day American Idiot class album..Best I've heard in ages
Got the Wolftones collection and the Mary Black Collection for Christmas.. Theyre good I tell ya![]()
Thanks for reminding me, I meant to pick up a copy at the weekend.Originally Posted by Eire06

I just find that Hopes and Fears unimpressive drivel. I really seem to have missed the atraction of that one!!
I feel the same about the Chemical Brothers.Originally Posted by Gareth

Have Greenday American idiot, Killers, and Willie Mason waiting at home for me.
Of the previous Chemical Brothers album I have not had much of an interest. I seem to just like this one alot. I am sure the attraction will fade and I tried listening to it when I wasn't actually working and it wasn't as goodOriginally Posted by Peadar
. Coding and Chemical Brothers go together it would seem.
Snow Patrol - Final Straw
Killers - Hot Fuss
Beck - Guero (jury still out)
Last U2 abum was muck, i can't even play it straight through.
Should be thread on most disappointing album.
Here here! dreary uninspiring average bland, safe middle class nancy boy music IMHO, complete waste fo time.I just find that Hopes and Fears unimpressive drivel. I really seem to have missed the atraction of that one!!
illiteracy and alphabet soup hmm?
Keane, I have listened to the album again last night. First thing that hit me was I was bored. Then I started to notice how his voice didn't do anything at all in the way of entertain me. Now I am not looking for wild crazy rock singing seeing as I put Tom McRae, Red House Painters and Crowded House are up there in my top albums. Maybe its the lack of a guitar or the use of piano (I find Coldplay painful too). Each song just added to my boredom before I had to cast aside the album and stick on some Cure with a medicinal dosage of Doves.
Brings me to something I start wondering writing this. What bands use Piano and use to well. I always think of Lady Madonna and Imagine when I think of Piano in a song!!
