Slightly jumping the gun I think. Yes Holt should have started and yes we played largely poor football. But in the first half, had we been a little more inventive up front or had it been against a poorer team than Sligo (and Sligo looked decent) I think we would have gone in at least two up. And let's not forget that despite not mounting an awful lot of pressure on the Sligo goal in the 1st half, we were (I think) worthy of our lead at the break.
However our second half display was fairly cowardly for a home side with a goal advantage. But we didn't loose and we can (and must) improve.
When Keely took the job I was forewarned of a season of dour but affective football by a long-standing LOI fan, so I wouldn't bother expecting total football any time soon. As long as the standard of football is upped sufficiently for us to start wining games, I'll be happy.
