About the only bit of good news to come out of tonight...
The Alan Cawley transfer issue has finally been settled in UCD's favour, acknowledging the fact that we were in the right all along and Ollie was just trying to con a player off us for free. The exact details regarding the settlement are apparently confidential.
I think it should be noted that the club has acted professionally at every stage in this matter, as opposed to our protagonists in the issue, and even as opposed to the many clubs who would be looking to whine to the media at every stage possible (and I'd say there are a few, with Shels being top of the list). If only every club in the league could act in the same way as UCD...
Unfortunately, we now have to turn our attention to another club who have decided not to pay us for a player, showing just how disgracefully petty and amateur some of the clubs in this league are. It is apparently hoped that this case - being far more clear cut - will be sorted shortly (certainly much quicker than the previous case!). It would appear proper (pause here while clubs like Shels scurry for a dictionary) that no further details be made known until afterthe case is settled.
Just thought UCD fans would like to hear that!
UCD bring nothing to the league? We've stood toe to toe with Ollie and won!
