Very winnable tie for Glin. Peake Villa should beat Moneygall and they would be sticky opponents for Carrig, had a lengthy run in this a couple of seasons back. Gorey a bit of an unknown quantity.

A couple of big games again this week in Desmond league.one in mj comp and Newcastle away to brdf..If Newcastle are to be a force this season they will at least have to collect a point on there travels against could be champions..one interesting appointment is pat o Connor as ref in m.j cup game, pat is nice genuine fellow but surely there is a serious conflict of interest with his connections to adare gaa in which 4 or 5 lads play soccer with ratkeale, as I said pat is genuine but should he be appointed to game??

Don’t think that’s much of a point bout d ref. Sure don’t Abbey get a certain ref for the majority of thier big games.

True I suppose if you are talking bout John r..small bit of difference as I think he is living out between Abbey and ncw, I just think pat should not ref any ratkeale game due to his role in gaa with some members of team, and also maybe John should not ref any Abbey games if he is from the area..it's not referees fault what game they are appointed to.. let's hope it's good game of ball by 2 quality teams at present..ratkeale going well so they get the nod but all on the day..

The abbey lads must be under pressure to say that they are calling a referees integrity into question this early in the season. All the pressure on them after losing previously to Rathkeale and only managing to draw with NCW last week

Gazza, I'm not questioning the refs integrity at all,my point is he should not be in that situation. I stand over that statement as iv seen him involved with these players in gaa games.as for Abbey been under pressure iv no idea but that could prove valuable points dropped last wk if Newcastle fade away as season goes on..

Great game in Knockdown this morning with three superb first-half goals.
Glin probably the more clinical side, took their chances and defended well but the reports I'd heard that KB were no bad side were definitely true.
Snow in goals is solid as usual, they've three great midfielders in Jim Liston, Dara Noonan and Gary Kelly who was probably their best on the day. Young lad came on for them up-front was lively also.

Massive wins for Abbeyfeale and Broadford today, the latter especially.

What has happened to Ballingarry. The wheels have really come off. Successive draws away to granagh and at home to kildimo leave them at serious risk of being relegated

Any report on Abbey ratkeale game? Great win for broadford despite if they were lucky or not..it puts broadford right in the mix who are unbeaten in league, it's shaping up like 3 way battle btwn ratkeale Abbey and brfd ,with the latter da form team..

Not the best game. The sending off of RK keeper after 28min was correct decision but RK had, what looked like a good goal, ruled out for offside. Very close second half albeit 10v11.

Its hard one to call who is the form team when they all have to play each other yet. Big plus for Abbey and Broadford having played Glin away and NCW, two tricky tests for Rathkeale. Rathkeale home to abbey the 2nd last game of the season could be an all or nothing game

Super win for Abbey yesterday. The premier will be very tight ... Abbey still the favourites in my opinion.

If NCW have any aspirations of doing something this season then they have to get a result and probably a win on Sunday, otherwise their league season is over after 7 games.
Good game in Carrig as well, always a tough team to beat at home and you would expect them to have a full team out heading into their FAI game the following week

Peace Villa beat Moneygall 7 -0, tough trip for Carrig but considering they almost beat Ballymun last year you couldn’t rule them out.

St. Michael's away for Abbeyfeale in the Champions Trophy.
There's no easy draw at this stage, you can be sure that Mick's will be baying for blood.

Carrick Utd should come through the Waterford ties and that's a very tough test for Abbey or Glin. The winners of Broadford/Ballingarry might have a slightly better chance.
