What's the latest on Athlone's plans for a new ground?

Weren't they planning to build a 6,000 all-seater somewhere near the train station?

There hasn't really been much about it lately. As far as i know, the Club is waiting to see how sort of grant they get. The new stadium is going to be beside the new Regional Sports Centre, which is along-side the N6, not really beside the train station, but still easy to get to from it. They've got the outline planning permission, they swapped land with the County Council, which has already taken place i think. They're supposed to be playin in new stadium for start of 2003/04 season.
