It's on Channel 5 in the UK!!!!!!!

This has already been mentioned in another thread but I just thought I would
highlight the matter as I was not following that thread cos I didn't think it
would be shown in the UK at all.
Anyway I though I would just check the TV guide to see if it was being shown
on Sky in the UK (by some miracle) and I was much surprised to see Channel
5 were showing the match which is great. Good old channel 5, they used to
show some Ireland matches in the past but then stopped doing it, I hope
they will show more in the future.
Better still I used to get a really poor reception on channel 5 but when I recently bought a Freeview box I had to fit a new loft aerial and point it at
a different transmittor (Nottingham not Waltham) to get all the Freeview channels. As a bonus I can get a great analogue picture from the Nottingham
transmittor on channel 5 too, which is good because my freeview signal
is not the strongest and occasionally prone to a touch of pixelation.
Also I will now have a choice of formats to watch it in, 4:3 16:9 etc, I prefer
4:3 but I will be able to quickly switch between the two (freeview tends to be
delayed by a second or too).
Best news I have had all week
I just hope we get a result now!

Delighted with that, I've a match myself on Saturday afternoon but then it's straight home to watch the match with the family. My cousin and her husband will be over for the weekend too so we'll have a few in the house watching it before hitting the town (to celebrate hopefully!)

It'll be my 6 week old son's first Ireland game too...already bought him the away strip in advance for Saturday
