I personally don't think this is rubbish. It helps to know what happened in games if you missed Eircom League weekly (like myself!) or didn't read any reports from newpapers etc.
I think it's more the remarkably biased "reporting" which is causing the problem. Mypost seems to be labouring under the impression that stuff as opinionated as this can somehow be useful to people who are seeking accurate historical data.
what harm? if you dont like it, ignore it.Originally Posted by pineapple stu
why arent you doing a Rovers review as an addendum, seeing as youre at the games anyway

Premier Division Results:
WEEK 4/33:
BOHEMIANS 4-2 WATERFORD UTD.
DROGHEDA UTD. 1-0 BRAY WDS.
LONGFORD TOWN 1-1 HOME FARM
SHELBOURNE - DERRY CITY
SLIGO ROVERS 1-1 ST. PATS. ATH.
UCD 0-0 CORK CITY
Week 4 saw a game postponed due to Youth International commitments, and one game at Dalymount featuring half of the week's goals. The rest came in the other 4 matches, of which 11 were scored overall, from 2 home wins, and 3 draws, including dramatic late action in Sligo.
Waterford are getting more and more familiar with Dublin this season, as this was their second trip already, for the bottom-of the table clash with Bohs. Bohs had still not recovered from three defeats on the spin, when the visitors scored through Polewczak after a minute. Tony Grant scored Bohs' first goal of the season soon afterwards, before Waterford went back in front through the other Grant, Stephen on 38'. Bohs equalised before the break however, from Farrelly's penalty, and in the second half, Bohs upped the tempo. Kevin Hunt put them in front 5 minutes in, while Grant notched his second goal of the game in injury time, and put Waterford bottom of the table.
Drogheda faced Bray in a repeat of last year's cup semi-final at United Park, where the home side dominated. Bray held out until eventually Paul Keegan settled the issue with a winner with 15 minutes to go. The victory sends Drogheda top of the table with 10 points from 4 games.
If you fancy a draw, head off to watch Longford play anywhere. If we had stayed up last season, Longford would have had a big away support this week at Flancare, but as Home Farm came to town instead, Longford lost several thousand €'s as a result of having the entire ground full of their own fans. The drab atmosphere contributed to the usual dull fare when watching Longford. After two 0-0 draws, and another 68 minutes of boredom, someone scored a goal; Ger McCarthy for Home Farm. Longford, offended by being awoken from their slumber, promptly moved into second gear. It brought a penalty 8 minutes later, from which Des Baker scored for the home side's first goal of the season. Longford have a goal difference of 0 from their 3 draws, while Home Farm lie temporarily, fourth from bottom.
The other game on Saturday evening at the Showgrounds, wasn't very much more entertaining for a long time, as Pats were determined to atone for last year's cup defeat at the same venue. 90 scoreless minutes later, Sligo won themselves a penalty, which Pats' old boy Keith Foy scored. The Showgrounds erupted, licking their lips at having turned over the Inchicore outfit once again. While injury time continued, Sean Connor decided to waste time, and make a sub. Trouble was his team were defending a corner at the time, and it broke the home side's concentration. Vinny Perth took advantage and fired Pats level. It finished 1-1, preserving Sligo's unbeaten home record, and Pats' unbeaten record this season.
UCD met Cork at Belfield. Last season Cork ran rings round the Students in a 5-1 win there, but found the going tougher in the home matches against them. Two more points were dropped to them this time, as a tight contest finished 0-0. Cork lose top spot, but for how long?

For the record, Home Farm's senior side were playing St. Josephs Boys and won 2-0 in the Leinster Senior League Senior 1B. They play Drumcondra Athletic on Sunday also in the LSL Senior 1B.Originally Posted by sfc red
Drumcondra has a good 4-0 win over Edenderry Town, with a trip to Loughshinney on Wednesday and Dalkey next Sunday.
Its pretty obvious to anyone, that regardless of where the various clubs evolved from Drumcondra, Home Farm and Dublin City are AT THIS MOMENT three seperate entities.
Has anyone read dcfcsteve's sig?Originally Posted by Breifne
