    Thumbs down He's Gone!!!!

According to both the Echo and Red fm, Ollie has agreed terms with Shels to join them at the end of the season on a Bosman. Thats great isnt it. We wont even get Billy Woods in exchange now.

Board have really f*cked up this one.

Its the fault of the board for even letting Ollie get into the position of leaving on a free. If we were to get a fee, Id say fine, but to lose our best player on a free is absolutely disgraceful.

On the other hand, maybe LM could be blamed as his people management leaves a lot to be desired.

I for one wont be calling Cahill a judas etc. He is going to better his career. Its just a pity he cant better his career with us.

i haven't felt this bad about a player leaving since pat morley. i reckon ollie didn't want to stay. all the same this is a shocking indictment of the club. t

best of luck to ollie - he was a great player but now he ain't no different to the rest of the dublin enemy.

Exactly when is the bottom going to be reached?
This club just seems to be getting more f*cked by the day.......

Ah well, good luck to Ollie anyway, though it's going to be pretty f*cking disgusting watching him running at our lot next season........ ...

Having lost Ollie, where the hell will we finish next season. Two to go down I think. Coz lets face facts here, if it werent for Cahill this season, we'd be down there with Longford, scraping away from the play off spot.

Unhappy This the start of the end?

No idea if this "news" is confirmed yet but its on soccercentral so its got to be true does it?

Lets just say its true for a while.

When your best player leaves for a rival club its rarely about money (although couldn't be rules out in this case) but more likely the player is not optimistic about his current clubs fortunes.

Ollie leaving would be particularily bad as in the 5 or so years he been at the cross successive managers have failed to develop or bring in any competition for that position. WE will now have NO left winger next year.

One of the reason i think Ollie may have agreed such a deal now is because football is his job & he offered guarantees as to his future.

Woiuld anyone blame Ollie for leaving an amateur setup to an aspiring pro one?

    Course this is all speculation.......

Re: This the start of the end?

Are people here starting to wake up to the fact that with the current people in charge of OUR club, Cork City are in serious danger of going out of business again...

For some people it's all about scraping results and fluking our way into the odd cup final or place in Europe. That can only go on for so long. The Shels, Bohs, Rovers, Pats, Longfords are ambitious clubs who have been consistently pulling away from us and the rest of the pack (as regards structure etc.)

We may not have a club in 3 years time.

True enough. Can't really blame the guy for wanting to get out. Have to question the timing of it all. Despite everything we are still in with a shout of Europe and have yet to play Shels. It's got to affect his performances from now on.

Agree with you Neil, But I remember a long time ago, we had in this city a fantastic manager Dave Bacuzzi and a great club called CORK HIBS. Dave was f*cked over by the board and the club went out of business not too long after. I marched along with thousands of supporters against the board, complained about the way the club was being run, and all that stuff. We got nowhere, we were ignored, we achieved ZERO. When wan|< ers are running a club, there is very little the fans can do, unless they have the money to buy the club. Sorry to be so pessimistic, but I've seen this happen to a few Cork clubs, and never been able to do anything about it.......
I feel absolutely f*cking sick at the moment.............
