Can't see them keeping a clean sheet against Celtic, especially when they have to come out and score two.

I have no doubts that Celtic will go through but not without scaring the hell out of their fans first. They are second only to League of Ireland club to having a calamity moment that puts them under unnecessary pressure. They are more resiliant now though under Rodgers and can handle a setback. I think Rosenborg will score first causing some nerves to creep in but then Celtic will dig themselves out with their away goal after 70 minutes. Rosenborg are still no pushovers and will be a tough tie for Cork. Its mad that there is likely to be 3 out of 3 reversal of teams drawn that have have played Cork and Dundalk last season.

Celtic were always going to win that tie ... Rodgers has them playing at a higher level than the rest of the team in Scotland .... Still don't think they make the group stages of the Champions League though but a lot of that depends on the draw ... who are the drawn against in 3rd qualifying round? ... Ajax are 2 up against Graz as well so its over to Dundalk today now ....

Larnaca's Ivan Trickovski when asked about differences between Cork and Dundalk
"They are two tough and strong teams with a bit of difference in ideas but mostly the style is similar"

Does he not know that Dundalk play total football or is he playing mind games? Stephen Kenny must be fuming.

I love it when opposition coaches don't do their homework.

Mind games - Larnaca have been watching 1970's Ajax and Holland DVD's in preparation.

All joking aside Dundalk fans - we were poor last year and if Larnaca underestimate you as a result - well then you can thank us after.

Conspiracy? Irish sides seem to be drawn against Scandanavian teams quite often too.

That would probably help us if anything. The northern european teams tend not to be as technically as slick as the meditteranean/eastern european teams. We've got a surprisingly decent record against Scandanavian teams.

The teams i fear the most are often the ones from the likes of Ukraine or Czech republic that nobodys ever heard of. Mlada Boleslav being a perfect example last year against Rovers. They always looked capable of scoring if they needed it.

Slovaks are a good comparison similar sized country, ice hockey/handball(even basketball) all big sports there if not bigger, but seem to produce decent footballers and decent teams in Europe.

There's such a marked difference watching Dundalk in Europe and cork. The negativity seeps through right down to individual performances for cork and in contrast the positivity accentuates dundalk individual and overall performance.

    Dubdalk have started pretty well

Just wondering... how can UEFA appoint an Austrian referee to this match when the winner of this tie will likely face an Austrian team?

When other clubs with astro pitches play in Europe do they all have to dump extra rubber on it for European games too??

You would think the first thing Peak 6 would do after this is install grass. The pitch does Dundalk no favours. Banging a dead drum I know.
