Cherrie had no chance with the goal in fairness and his kick outs seem to have improved 100%+

    Old school Irish performance.

Hard work, stop them playing, and keep the score down.

To be fair, all three objectives achieved.

Walking away from the ground disappointed of course. We had a couple of chances that unfortunately didn't go in for us. That goal was a sucker punch alright, nothing we could've done about it really. Its not over though that's the main thing.

The tie is alive, which is a great achievement.

Did you see anything that Cork could exploit in Warsaw? One goal and things could become very interesting.

Better result than Dundalk got at home against them, and Legia have the CL money behind them too.

Decent result. EL always the target for Cork I think once the draw was made

Thought we did ok. Created the better chances. The narrative won't change with some people but a few more performances like that and we will still make an impact in Europe this season.

Sorta gutted. Extremely proud. We set up in a specific way tonight, keep it close and hope we could get a chance or two. We ended up with four really good chances but just didn't take them. They didn't really have any real chances and scored a worldy. Maybe we could have defended it better, im not sure from where I was.
The tie is alive and we have hope. However bit feels like maybe we left it behind is tonight. Especially when they break out all the class players they left behind.
I said at half time I'd take a one nil loss. Now I'm gutted at one nil but we go to Poland with a small bit of hope

We had the better chances tonight, we'll get a chance over there. Unfortunately we weren't clinical enough.

That said, I imagine they've another couple of gears in them.

On a side note, Damien Delaney is very impressive.

Also, Morrissey going off injured had a big impact. Losing 2 players to injury mid game was a tough break.

With all the possession they had, Legia created very little in terms of clear-cut chances. I think Genk two years ago were a better team than Legia were today.

Playing Legia in early July, rather than in August is a huge bonus. Add in the players missing due to the World Cup and this tie was/is doable.

The second leg will be more difficult. Legia at home are a different animal and they will have seen weaknesses that they will seek to expose in the second leg.

The time to surprise these teams is in the first leg.

Going by your and Pats' results they're a worse animal at home.

Its settled now! Cork have had a better result at home against Legia so are now without doubt the best team in the land!! Definite favourites to win the league as they romp through this away leg and QR3!!

    That **** won't fight.

Come back after the second leg to make the comparisons.

In the unlikely event that Cork were to succeed they would deserve all the plaudits going.

Jesus Christ lads calm down, he's not belittling what dundalk did against them just putting the result in perspective of how good that dundalk team were so doing better at home than what they did is a decent achievement. Jesus not everything is a personal attack on you lads
