    That's only a 15% increase, not a 55% increase? (Rovers' average now 1539)

No more than 400 at Longford-UCD. About 60 outside the main stand, first block in the stand had another 60-ish and the other three blocks were a quarter full at best (which I think is about 400 * 3 / 4 = 300).

5,000 is what I heard most people say, I tend to agree.

Well you know what each section holds so work it out from that. Two stands full, the shed end terrace and the shed looked pretty full, the other end for the second half had 7 of us from Athlone and about 50 Sligo supporters.

    Official attendance figure ..

.. I was given was 550, which sounds surprisingly low. Would have agreed with your estimate Terry. The fact that it was raining would have brought everyone into the stand, perhaps this explains our overestimates of the attendance.

    I'd have a stab at 3,800 at Derry-Pats.
    Could be more.

Put in 4000 to be conservative. I think a couple of people made the point during the season that the website attendances were a bit on the high side, so this'll balance that out as well hopefully. Saw it there on eL Weekly though - looked very much like the Harps-Dundalk game this time last season. And now look at them!

EL Weekly said over 5,000 people so it cant be just the website that's over estimating though

eL Weekly and the FAI website both probably got it off the same source though! Which is to say, a complete stab in the dark. I rarely pay any heed to those kind of attendances unless they are obviously official (i.e. don't end in two zeros).

Maybe, just this once, it happened to be exactly 5,000 though?

Just wondering, what EL clubs, if any, actually release their official attendances every week?
