i think bob paisely, joe fagan, walter smith and dermot keely would disagree with you there![]()
But how many times have you seen a great asst manager, take the managers job and fail miserably?
Im afraid that alot of people, including Gunther himself, are still living off the success of the back end of last season.

Learn from mistakes.
I remember people saying not too long ago that he was still learning as a manager. Surely he picked up something in the last 6 years. Anyway, what exactly is a UEFA A coaching badge & how easy is it to get one.Originally posted by SÓCcfc
At least Gunther has his UEFA A coaching badge and he has years of experience as an Assistant Manager.
I think a plan is just a list of things that don't happen - Mr Parker
I do believe that they are quite hard to get. You must have the C & B badges aswell, which take a couple of years to get. David Platt's (England U-21 manager) lack of one cost him a job in Parma a few years back.Originally posted by City Hero

To get a FAI/NCVA Level 2 coaching badge (Colin O'Brien (our regional development officer) has one) costs £250 if you are a regrestered coach and lasts for 44 weeks (needless to say you need a level 1 badge first). A UEFA 'A' badge would be much harder to get than this.
Ex Celtic & Man U player and former Blackburn coach, Brian McClair had a B badge last I heard.
As I say, we're just young & a bit nieve.
