if gunther does bail I will take a very dim view of it. he should showa bit of moral backbone and not resign and not use the goading of the fan's as a excuse. a manager should should stand by his results. for a man who prides himself on his honesty to leave now wouldn't be very honest at all.
in murphy's case the last number of games and results have been pretty poor. losing to ucd and rovers in the cup in successive weeks and then getting pasted by bohs were pitiful days for supporters and players. losing to limerick in the leage cup isn't something I lose too much sleep over. the games gainst pat's, sham's and shel's will tell us a lot more
however overall i think liam should stay at least until the end of the season. to leave now would be a disater for the club. if we sort things out the players and backroom could still push this club to third in the league.
if he leaves now then we are truly in the sh**t as like the resignation of Dm having a manger leave now will create nothing but instablity. i can guarantee you a change of manager will create nothing but instablity for the club.
do we really want o turn into another sligo rovers with a new manger every year.
MURPHY IN (FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON)

Whatever it was I am sure it was better than my plan to get out of this by pretending to be mad. I mean, who would have noticed another madman around here?
are we going to get relegated? no. if the manager goes now then we will go nowhere. i think a lot of murphy out people are those who ddin't give him chance form the start. we are playing poorly but if we did beat pat's, sahm's and shel's then the imagined crisis would be over.
some people need to calm down a bit and look at the bigger picture
MURPHY IN!!!!

Yeah, let's see what happens in the games against the "big" boys. I cannot see replacing Murphy as being of any benefit for the rest of this season. Remember, we are still in with a good chance of Europe. Sorting out a new contract for Ollie is the most urgent thing on the agenda for now.
It's good to know your happy with mid-table mediocrity season after season.Originally posted by dalo

NO IT WOULD NOT BE OVER. We would still have tactically inept manager who encourages a long-ball game and is basically ripping our club apart.we are playing poorly but if we did beat pat's, sahm's and shel's then the imagined crisis would be over.
Other people need to wake up smell the roses.some people need to calm down a bit and look at the bigger picture
Murphy is the best option we have at the mo.
All that would happen if Murphy left is the Board will apoint Patsy or Deccie or someone of that stature.
If we were to get someone in who had a professional aproach to the game then perhaps Murphy should set down at the end of the season, but the board will not go that route.
We'd be left with someone with even less experience than Liam at the helm.
Oh no not them again
I'm kinda resigned to the fact that the board WON'T sack Murphy. They had enough criticism after sacking DM. However, I wouldn't bet against Murphy resigning and leaving to live with the Tibetan Monks for a couple of years.
Although they'd probably get sick of him too!![]()

1) WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME WE FINISHED MID-TABLE?
2) WE HAVE ALAWAYS PLAYED THE LONG BALL GAME LONG BEFORE GUNTHER WAS THERE. AS FOR RIPPING THE CLUB APART WHO SAYS SO? IT'S NEWS TO ME
3) NEIL I AM AFRAID LIKE THE REST OF THE MURPHY OUT BRIGADE YOU ARE A BUT AVOCAL AND VISIBLE MINORITY.

Minority? Take a look at the Poll on here for an example of that 'minority' you refer to.Originally posted by dalo
LIKE THE REST OF THE MURPHY OUT BRIGADE YOU ARE A BUT AVOCAL AND VISIBLE MINORITY.
I HARDLY USE THAT POLL AS A REPRESENTIVE EXAMPLE. FIRSTLY IT ONLY HAS 40 OR VOTES ON IT.
SECONDLY THE POLL IS DEFECTIVE I VOTED ON IT 3 TIMES SO IT AIN'T UP TO MUCH.
THIRDLY BOO BOYS ARE ALWAYS MORE VISIBLE AT MATCHES BECAUSE LIKE EMPTY VESSELS........
FOURTHLYI HAVE SUCCESSFULLY HAMMERED YOUR OTHER POINTS SO YOU IS DEFINITELY SINKING BADLY HERE.
FINALLY I AM HUNGRY AND GOING FOR A SANDWICH

I'd love to have your optimism. I just hope you'll still be out there supporting City when we're playing the likes of Limerick every week in the First Division. I have a feeling the likes of you will suddenly diassappear then...
With Cahill on his way, there is a serious doubt as to whether City can stay in a 10-team League next season. First Division football would probably be the end of the club. That is why I am so worried Dalo...
BTW Turn off the Caps Lock please.
I don't think he will leave before the end of the season.
If the board want to replace him, they'll need time. And they should do it properly this time and not all cloak and dagger. Methinks it's only a matter of time...
Sssshhh No need to shout.
If you disagree with Neil or anyone else surely you can debate it like everyone else.......
you think i will dissapear? man that is petty. i have been going to city games for a long time so much so I travel from dublin to cork to watch them much to the anguish of the girlfriend. i don't need to justify my following of ccfc by blowing on about murphy out all the time.Originally posted by Neil

tell you what why don't you sub me the train fare![]()
as for the cahill leaving that would be a serious blow I agree with you there but if ollie had made his mind up to leave then there is little any one can do. moreover as good as ollie is this year there were previous seasons when he did very little indeed

i thought I was debating it and I think I answered all his points pretty well. as for the caps lock thing surely it shouldn't distract from my rebutall of neil's points. besides I am too lazy to turn them offOriginally posted by pete

So it's still only Liam himself and Dalo who voted for Gunther to stayOriginally posted by dalo

incorrect again son. using your logic- who says the same people might therefore have voted repeatedly for liam out. also it isn't representive of city fans. moreover unlike you i would not claim to be "representive" of city fans I can only represent myself and therefore can only express how i would feel.
i am sure you would gladly claim to know how much of a fan i am though
to show how daft the poll is I voted for liam to stay on and twice to vote him out to just showing how meaningless these things are. moreover ccfc are not a publicdemocracy it's the board who decide these things not the fans.(although I am sure the board themselves are democratic- i think![]()
any other responses neil or have you admitted defeat yet![]()

He should go, now, this second, immediately. The way I look at it is that we are clear from relegation, we arent going to qualify for Europe at the rate we are going(inter toto maybe, but Id rather we didn't - too much expense). If he left now, the new guy (Jonny C?) could start building for next year and maybe bring some success to the club.
Question for the Murphy in Brigade ( SOC, Dalo, Troy etc.). How can you be happy with one home goal in 6 matches?
Thats not bad luck, as im sure I could count the amount of shots we had on target on one hand as well. Is that down to good managerial acumen?
OUT!!!!!!!!!!
Happy with 1 goal in 6 home games - No.
Think everything is rosey - No
Guther is having a bad spell, most managers do.
He really really has a brill youths set-up going, that would be the main reason, give him the chance that Mountfield didn't get to mould his own team. Learn from mistakes.
Realistically if Gunther was replaced it would only be Johnny C or Deccie or worse still Patsy who would be put in charge. At least Gunther has his UEFA A coaching badge and he has years of experience as an Assistant Manager.
Oh no not them again
