Fagen was indeed some operator. Saw him break his leg in finn park which ended his career. Not to many like him around now.
Kevin mcHugh has cult status at Harps for sure, especially after his goal celebration in the play off defeat away to Derry.
Reckon we should have every club appoint a cult hero like what they're doing on Football Focus.
For me it has to be the left back/left winger/central midfielder/legend that was Eoin Mullen. What a player! I think that in all his career with Bohs he only ever had one shot on goal ... but what a goal that was. A fantastic volley into the bottom corner of UCDs net years ago!
What you think?
Check out www.bohemians,ie , Bohs have some decent ticket offers for Friday

Ricky O Flaherty for pats.
The man is a legend.
Even when all the sh!t was goin on with us and shels he got a standing ovation from the pats fans when he came on for them.
It would have to be Stephen 'Digger' O' Brien. An absolute legend on and off the pitch and IMO they should name the main stand in Flancare after him.
"At the age of twelve, my ambition was to become a gangster. To be a wiseguy was better than being President of the United States. To be a wiseguy was to own the world." - Henry Hill
I'd say Patsy Freyne for City. Used to have a fag at half time.
I'm what? I'm ants at a picnic?
You wouldn't happen to be the poster formerly known as "The Eoin Mullen Fan Club" by any chanceOriginally Posted by aido_b
I'd have to go for Stephen Caffrey for us. Genuine Bohsman, not the greatest player in the world but gave his all unlike some other ****s I could mention.

Good post !
For me it would be Tarzan O'Brien, absolute legend, a Bray man through and through, has given everything to th club, in his testimonial season so hopefully we can get something sorted out for him.
Followed by John Ryan for that cup final Hat-Trick
I think it should be players who aren't genuine legends such as Digger but those who for no apparent reason are cult heroes..I nominate Colin Notaro, partly for his dive against Waterford in 2001 and partly for the chant we had for him which went "Notaro, Notaro, he drives a truck and he doesn't give a f*ck he's a bald truck drivin man.." Also the fact he was completely useless
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.
Oh Jaysus, if we're nominating fellas because they're useless, it will take some time to get a short list for us.Originally Posted by Longfordian

Well okay useless isnt major contributing factor there has to be something unusual or unique along with their uselesness

At the moment at Cork City it would have to be George O Callaghan. A great player, a character, a wind up merchant on the pitch. That said, he has as many detractors as fans, but the detractors are only there because he is "too flash".
If at first you don't succeed, redefine success.
Tony Sheridan, what a player, what a waste of talent. The fact that he wasted his incredible talent, if anything, only enhances his cult hero status for some reason.
Liam Coyle, top class goals, won the FAI cup in 3 different decades, and scored the winning goal to keep Finn Harps in the first division on his last appearance.Originally Posted by wakenuppaddy

Michael "Micko" O'Donnell for UCD. Fairly average left/central midfielder with the stamina of a horse and the work-rate of a man shoulder-deep in rising water. Player of the season two years ago - stood out as a player who hates to lose and never gave up, even under Doolo, who seems to have discouraged those attidudes.
You can't spell failure without FAI
Johnny Armstrong 138 for Rovers

Robbie "madog" Brunton .... I'll never forget him scaring the crap out of Richie Baker in Tolka one season ... All Brunton had to do was look at Baker and Baker gave the ball away! Also honourable mention to Tony Witter, the man who was likened to one Alan Hansen in a matchday programme but whose only worthwhile contribution to a game was a header over the bar!
Really? Saw him score twice more in UCD games - once an own goal in the Super Cup Final, and once in the next game - having moved to Kilkenny - a cracker from outside the area!Originally Posted by aido_b
For UCD - has to be Bazza Ryan. Quality keeper and a headcase to boot! Also, any players still with us! Especially those there for five plus years.
Thomas "Sweat" McGauley or Wojciech "The Phantom Pole" Korzan.
