Generally Irish fans are limited, really limited when it comes to creating an atmosphere (especially at home). We do create a great atmosphere away from home, with the odd exception.
The way I see it is you spend so much on your ticket why not make the most of it.
I remember when Scotland played here in 1999. Their fans where great. They got no reposnse at all from the Irish fans, even when it came to "stand up, if you hate england".
Go to an Ireland match now and ole ole is the best we can do. Where's the wit. At the Portugla match me and my friends start chanting "you're not the real Ronaldo", the response from around us was a few guffaws..but mostly it was like you were at mass.
