No one had to draw a yellow card out of McCormack, he was the creator of his own problems. I thought he was going to hit Buckley at one point. Caulfield is just trying to deflect attention away from a headless display by his captain, by hinting that he was "targeted" by Dundalk. Anyone who saw the game, and has seen McCormack playing Dundalk before, knows that McCormack was wound up too tight from the start of the game.
The incident after the game is a separate issue. It is being dealt with by the club. This is not an isolated incident in Oriel Park, or in the LOI in general. It is about time clubs, including Dundalk, stamped out yobbish behaviour.
Yes, the update was very odd. I'm not aware of any allegation that Cork fans were anything other than the target of yobbish behaviour.
Whatever about the deficiencies of the statement, it is important that the club stamps out this behaviour by removing these individuals.
I agree with other comments that stewarding could be better, but the fundamental problem is a number of louts who have should not be allowed in the ground.
Cant make to Cork tonight but the team are improving and who knows, Pity it was not on this Friday we would have brought 500 plus, anyway come on Rovers.
Big honor for Ronan Hale, scoring first goal at the new Brandywell. Nice also in a historic way, that his grandfather used to be a Derry striker back in the 60's.
Live commentary of Derry v Limerick on Radio Foyle.
Bray 1-2 Sligo
Cork 1-0 Rovers
Derry 5-0 Limerick
St. Pats 0-0 Dundalk
Waterford 1-0 Bohs
Another away tonking for Limerick. Race to the bottom with Bray.

Interesting that bar the Derry hammering, all the big scores have been the Monday/Tuesday games. Also interesting that Rovers have as many points as Limerick. They were poor tonight. One nil flattered them in the way our one nil loss Friday apparently flattered us (I did not get to see it as I was out of the country)
Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.
Didn't think we were flattered at all by 1 nil but I suppose everyone sees it from there own perspective. Will be interested to see the peno. Looked very harsh but guess it doesn't matter anyway. Next 4 matches against limericks Sligo pats and Waterford will be interesting.
I thought we completely dominated the second half. We weren't anyway clinical enough, and should have put it to bed early in the second half.
Thought rovers offered very little in attack, against a very inexperienced defense. I was surprised, I expected ye to score a few given ye're recent results.
Weird league. Great result for us and very impressive performance, especially from a couple of the younger lads. Need to finish more chances though.
Derry tonked 6-1 on Friday, win 5-0 on the Monday. It’s a mad League this season, even by LOI standards.
Didn't play as well as we have done but still could have scored a couple, lost to a dubious (time will tell) peno. It's a league where points will be dropped, are Waterford good ? Are limericks that bad? How did we manage to lose to bohs....... big game on Friday against pats.
Pats defo deserved the point.Dundalk on top 1st half and looked likely to score and you'd be thinking they defo will 2nd half.
But Pats dug in 2nd half,Dundalk got it hard to build anything and their usual set-piece routines werwe awful.Hard to name anyone player that played well for us in what was a pretty awful game of ball.
Sooner S o'd and Mounts come back for us the better.
Good win for Derry tonight and badly-needed after a number of poor results. Crucial to get off to a good start in the Brandywell too.
A fitting night in the Brandy - the kind of night that makes you love football again.
Derry wern't as good as the scoreline suggested, although there was some very nice goals in there. Limerick folded up completely after the second, they were already halfway home mentally by the time the fourth went in.
That result will do a world of good for a team clearly still finding its feet with a cache of relatively young players new to the league. We also look capable of conceding from nowhere at almost any moment. But the new pitch is lush and zippy, the players largely like to get on the ball and I'd be optimistic we'll become very, very good at home once we properly start to gel and our back four gets a bit more stable.
Ou-est le Centre George Pompidou?
Good also for the future - he's the first of a large batch of teenage Irish strikers who have been scoring regularly at underage level in England. After a great year in Birmingham's U18s, he seems to have struggled a bit over the last year or so to adjust to u23 level (albeit partially as a result of injury, I believe). But if he can keep this up at senior LOI level, it will really be a great boost to his confidence and will hopefully get his career back on the fast track. Of course, as a Cork City fan, I hope he only does it in, say, 75% of games and not against us
Absolutely delighted with the result, there seems to be a bit of steel and determination with this Pats side that we haven't had in a few years, Toner, Desmond and Madden excellent at the back, Garvan and Markey great with the ball.
Even though it was a 0-0 Dundalk are a class above anyone else inn the league
Here on a technicality.
