U15 winger Ben Quinn signed for Celtic: https://www.independent.ie/sport/soc...-38055675.html
He's the nephew of former internationals Alan and Stephen Quinn
When you see the quality of English academies and the quality of player you will play with moving to Celtic at this age always seems strange other than maybe easier progression to first team I suppose. This lad likely had his pick of clubs so Celtic obviously still big draw
I wouldn't recommend any up and coming Irish youth player signing for Celtic. The standard is terrible here in Scotland and it's shown in the absence of decent young players coming through. The facilities are fine but the coaching and standard of opposition player in the youth league is miles below England. Scotland is fine for a developed player who isn't good enough for the English Championship (someone like Daryl Horgan) but that's about it.
Yes, the standard in general is low, but Celtic have also produced the likes of Kieran Tierney and Callum McGregor in recent years, as well as developing the careers of Van Dijk and Wanyama, so you could argue that playing for their first team will get you noticed by Premier League clubs.
Forrest, Robertson... hmm, struggling a bit now alright.
This got me wondering whatever became of Ryan Gauld, the Scottish Messi who joined Sporting Lisbon from Dundee United. He's 23 now and on loan at Hibs.
Forrest...really? Robertson was a great one I’ll give you that.
I don't see Celtic all that often but I like the look of him, yeah.
Easy to look good in the SPL, he would do well to even make it for an average championship team. He can run and that’s about it.

https://mobile.twitter.com/FAIreland...12281572438016 nice win over England today. 3 players of Albanian heritage involved and the mcloughlin lad is English qualified as well I think. http://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/eng...017956/page-68 this should have a bit of the English lads views
Heard two or three of the team are wanted by Liverpool. Can't remember which ones but always good to see the biggest clubs showing an interest.
Personally, think it's better if they go to Norwich or Bournemouth, but still high praise.
By all accounts they are an exceptional bunch but haven't seen them play together.
https://mobile.twitter.com/FAIreland...37198977388544 highlights. A different England side played Turkey yesterday as well so England obviously splitting their group
Caden McLoughlin has left Malaga. Think it was a fair few months in coming to be honest.
I have a friend of mine, his kid has been offered to move across to both Malaga and Real Madrid after going on trial with both clubs. He’s super young, like under the age of 10, so they would move the family across. So I reached out to Caden to ask his opinion on Malaga’s academy and where he’d go and his response was lukewarm and from it, it seemed obvious to me that he wasn’t sticking around much longer.
By the way, kid isn’t eligible for Ireland but he really should have been: his parents were living in Ireland, father is brazilian and played pro up till about 25, mother is Polish. They were living in Ireland and were planning to have the kid here. But the midwives/nurses in whatever ward in the Coombe made a number of snide remarks to the mother about Polish and Eastern European women, “spongers” etc etc.
So, she decided to fly home to Poland for a month to have the kid, then they flew back to Ireland, and continued to live here for another 2 years but then the three of them moved to Poland. Apart from being an excellent footballer, he’s also able to speak Polish, Portuguese, Spanish and English which is hella impressive for a 9 year old or whatever he is.
Anyway, if he ends up being the next Lewandowski or Modric - I’ll blame the HSE for us not reaping the rewards...
