935 in Finn Park, around 30 or so Shels fans most of whom didn't get in until around the 25 minute mark

    3563 at OP tonight.
    Tad disappointed with that.

one of the new owners was in attendance at Oriel tonight.
    started to rain about 9pm.
I hope he Noted the small Cork attendance on their uncovered side. and, when it then start properly lashing - the run for cover from our own fans on their uncovered side also?

Rocers!, Eyesight is clearly shot, just as well if I have to watch what we served up last night, for the rest of the season.

Again there looked to me to be more there. Shed was packed and that was before the rain. They were well off with the Bray attendance as well

No crowd announced at rovers. I'd say around 3k at most. Knew it was going to be poor when I came out of work at 6 and it was ****ing rain. I don't understand people not coming cos of weather but it's predictable at Tallaght. Having said that it is truly the coldest place to watch football , hopefully the new stand will help...

I was expecting over 4k at last nights game but the away support was limited as expected, however on the figure given by DFC, I don't see any benefit in the club releasing an incorrect figure.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), first Irish club to win points in a group stage in Europe (2016).

I wouldn't know oriel as ye do, but definitely looked a smaller crowd than I would have expected. Weather played a part I'd imagine, and being on TV. Wasn't surprised by the figure given

Be even less for any further visits, I would expect.
Many of the City travelling fans have crossed Oriel off their list already from bad experiences there.
The post match glass-throwing last Friday night will guarantee others will not return.
That aside, the days of standing in the open rain after a lengthy journey should be gone.
As a venue, Oriel is probably bottom of CCFC fans' list.

    Fair enough.

It must be disheartening for Cork players to see such tiny support.

If you listen to John Caulfield's post match interview he keeps talking about a hostile atmosphere that his team faced in the ground and how that impacted on his side.

In truth, the travelling numbers were so low and passive, that it's hard to imagine even less Cork folk encouraging their team and giving them some support

It doesn't really matter how many you have on that terrace noise wise though, the sound doesn't carry at all. Even when we packed it a few years ago, you could barely hear it even in the stand.

I'm sure it's nice for the lads to come out and see a crowd, but they're professionals and I'm sure they understand the reluctance.

Dundalk fans were very up for the game last night, and a bigger travelling support wouldn't have affected that atmosphere.

Given the longer distances and Friday night games, the lads are used to relatively small away crowds anyway in general. Same for most teams when they come to Tuners Cross. It is what it is. Once the home crowds stay good, they'll know they're being supported.

That’s some sh1te of a comment from JC tho, if they found that hostile how do they expect to cope in Europe? He’s obviously just trying to deflect from his teams poor performance like many managers do but find something better to say than that.

I'm amazed he said the team were affected by the atmosphere it's a bit weak.
