that's slightly embarrassing on my part I had a feeling something was wrong after I'd posted... Amazing finish in Dalymount. Poor goalkeeping for the 3rd goal. Great finish for the 2nd.

2-3 to City. Sadlier direct from a corner. We deserve nothing from this game.

Elephant in the closet is that Bray are still level up in Oriel.

And Waterford have taken the lead v Derry

This could be a more open season than previously thought

2490 in Oriel tonight. Poor fare in general. Rogers with a couple of top saves so it could have been worse. Midfield struggled to get a foothold in the game again. Next week v Rovers is all the more interesting now with both sides already needing a performance. Cork still have that ability to dig out wins when up against it - coming from 2 behind last week and getting 3 points with 10 men after being pegged back so are still the standard bearers for the rest. Great night for Waterford back up.

Great point for Bray, nice to get points on the board before everything inevitably goes absolutely bonkers later in the season.

Dreadful fare at Dalymount (watched it on the telly). Complete hoofball from beginning to end. How many free kicks were there? How many times did the ball go out of play? Maybe the conditions had something to do with it - but that was dire, especially from Rovers.

It was dire. I went along and actually was questioning how that could be top flight football. No composure from anyone. I started trying to count 3 passes in succession from either team and gave up in the second half. So stop/start it was almost unwatchable.

Well done to Bohs, Cork and Waterford. The first half in Dalymount was terrible to watch but sure it's only the first game. There weren't any signs from Rovers that whey will be challenging the top 2 but again it's only the first game.

Dundalk awful tonight, totally disjointed and very lucky not to lose.We spunked our cash on that Dylan Connolly it seems,he was terrible, expect him to be loaned out soon to any first division that will have him.Bray were v good and only for the much maligned Gary rogers playing a cracker in nets they could have won the match.

Plenty of work ahead for SK in the coming months.

First half and most of second was brutal to watch, hoof ball, not a pass in sight, jeez I know it was wet but come on you would expect players to play a simple square ball. Rovers not going to win with that joker managing them.

Brutal game in Dalymount. Big fanfare over the season opener. Hope there wasn't too many tuning in for the first time taking that as their judge of the standard of the league overall.

I'd expect Drogheda v Harps to be of a higher quality than that next weekend.

I meant it in the context of we have been playing good football in preseason and then turn up and play poorly tonight. Crowd atmosphere conditions loads of excuses but bottom line bad play bad start. Anyway move on. What happened against bray? Had you down for a certain 3 points

What a dreadful display by Dundalk tonight, even saying to a mate on 90, in the (highly) unlikely event had he scored, we wouldn't have deserved it.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), first Irish club to win points in a group stage in Europe (2016).
