I don't think any Derry fan can truly believe they really deserved a win today. Michael O'Connor coming off at half time made a huge difference to Harps. John O'Flynn had an abysmal performance in the second half.

I'm not sure what you were expecting to hear.

It was reported in the national media that they were arrested for public order offences two weeks ago. I imagine the next step is for a decision to be made on prosecution or otherwise - that generally goes under the radar unless/until charges are made and a court appearance happens.

From what I understand, nobody was hurt and little damage was done - IMO the lads need to keep a low profile socially and concentrate all energies on their football

Cracking game at Inchicore. Dundalk 2 up at half time ( first goal was an absolute calamity from defender and Pats new keeper.) Second Half Pats were magnificent ( Daragh Markey in particular, he was just brilliant all night.). Then we take the lead twice in extra time, only to be pegged back twice. High quality penalty shoot out too, and of course Markey then misses the crucial penalty after playing so well. Gutted, in general, and for him in particular.

Great way to spend a dull Monday night though !
Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.

Terrific, if crazy game in Inchicore.

Dundalk looked very comfortable in the first half, but players who were returning from injury; O'Donnell, Mountney, Jarvis, Gatland tired in the second half and Pats controlled the game from then on.

Both teams were poor at defending set pieces and every ball into either box looked like it was going to be a goal.

Cracker of a goal from Fagan, by the way.

    Mental game.
Dundalk seemed like they were cruising in the 1st half but We ran out of a bit steam and Pats were suddenly back in it and looking like the side most likely to progress.
When Pats went 4-3 up the game looked up for us but Dundalk are old hands in these situations and scored(again) right at the death.
The penalty lottery luck shone on us but we were lucky to get out of RP still in the draw and although Pats fans will take little solace in this;they were the better side on the night.Lennon,Markey and Leahy all excellent tonight.

Good to see Gartland back for Dundalk,Tagbajumi was our best player i thought.Hopefully that 120 mins got some lead out of lazy legs.

T'riffic match as i said and nice to come out the big end of it!

It's not that surprising. Both sides fielded very weakened teams. We only started 2 of our starters from Bohs, although Sadlier did play too. I just wish Waterford would have scored inside 90 mins and been done with it. We had an U19 CB that started, but went off after 25 mins and was replaced by Sean McLoughlin who had to play almost 100 mins of football now. Not ideal ahead of Friday's game.

Yeah young Dean Walsh should've scored in the first half and avoided the need to play til nearly 10.30! You could see both sides wanted to get it done and dusted with us sending Duffus and Akinade on as subs (who combined for our goal) and Cork throwing Cummins and McNamee on up front with Sadler. Nobody wanted to do 120 minutes, but after going that far, it was nice to win it and get into a quarter final.

Sounded like waterford were the better team, but yeah, would've preferred if they'd done it in the 90!

Shels 4-0 up on Drogheda inside half an hour. Always hard to predict League Cup scores, but that has to be unexpected!
