it will be on sky or setanta def. no way on bbc
don't think it's on sky or setanta and i doubt the bbc will be showing this one.
it will be on sky or setanta def. no way on bbc
no mention of it on the setanta website but most irish places should have the "unofficial" rte coverage![]()
now ye have it is right.....
This is a decent site for seeing what match is being shown where around the world:
http://64.77.87.5/sport/FT_WC06.html
So far it only has RTE listed...
It will not be on in England unless a Irish pub has access to Irish channels,Sky never have Ireland away matches,BBC and Channel 5 have only had Ireland on once in recent years to my recollection.
I would be grateful if anyone knew a site on the net I could watch it on.
i will be in Germany during the game, i contacted 2 irish bars who guaranteed me, they are showing the game, one, kilians is even showing the china game!!!!!i have now emailed the head barman again to ask what channel etc hope they can provide some details. i would have thought sky would do it as it is a wcq! i would not have thought that the 2 bars in germany would have rte access, maybe they do, will let u know if they are aware of the channel.....

i think sky covered the away friendly to Poland???? i watched it in a bar, maybe i'm wrong....![]()
check this out!!!!!!if this is correct, they are showing the Poland v Azerbaijan game instead of ireland away, obviously cos they are in england's group (sky sports 1) but of course they are showing ireland's home FRIENDLY with china

Cheers for that info, I dosen't suprise me about Sky who would want to watch Poland v Azerbaijan
what are they showing on sky sports 2 and 3 though,, maybe it is not confirmed yet. setanta USA are showing the ireland game! if u are in england there has to be some irish bar showing it, if they are showing it in one in munich, they have to show it here, waiting for news from munich, prob is rte they have.
Answer to your first question who will they have on Sky 2 and 3 proberly England,Scotland or Wales they show most of there away matches even thou they are all boring to watch.
Its difficult watching Ireland matches where Iam there are not many Irish pubs and they would not show them anyway.I was thinking about getting RTE does that show all Ireland matches even away matches.
england and northern ireland is on bbc and on earlier than ireland's (1500 i think) scotland v italy is on bbc scotland and wales play at 1500 also, can't see why they won't, would get a lot of viewers like yourself. i think plastic paddy watched an ireland game on the net recently, not sure what website though, are u there PP? tell us the secret..
Sky only have the rights to our home games since that dispute with RTE was sorted.
I live 50 yards from The Corrib Rest so if anyone will be in NW6 let me know. In the past they haven't shown some Ireland games though. Also, we've yet to win a game I've watched there so maybe it's not the best idea. It's not a lucky venue!Originally Posted by pronane
They've only recently got the Irish SKY Card I think.
I also suspect the game will be on Sky Sports Extra, or on one of the others. The Swiss game was on Sky but was only officially added to the schedule a few days in advance as far as I can remember.
Cheers for the info ,what price would you talking about for the Irish sky card , Irish TV license and the monthly fee
Cheers is there know way you can just purchase RTE on Sky ?,rather than having to get the card and all those channels.
I don't quite understand what you mean. Do you have Sky digital? If so, all you need is an Irish card. If you haven't got Sky digital you'll have to get it or a satellite.Originally Posted by byrnie20
I use NTL which is basically the same as Sky just under a different name.Where Iam confused Is ,In order to watch Ireland matches on RTE would I have to get the Sky Sports package or could I just take out the cheapest package and still get RTE with the Irish card
OK so as you said in a previous post I would have to get an Irish TV lisence and a Irish card to watch Ireland matches in England
You need Sky digital and an Irish viewing card, that is all. There is a slot in the Sky digibox to put the card into. If you are finished your contract with NTL, scrap them and switch to Sky.Originally Posted by byrnie20
