While the move to summer football has been a good one IMO such as helping in terms of European results, the downside is definately a lack of big names like cross channel teams for pre season friendlies.

There's only so many MSL teams you can play...

We should try to get one of the 'big' Dublin clubs down for maybe next Wed.

    Why?
We will have to see enough of them in the season ahead, and we, and they, don't want to "show our hand" until we have to.

    Really?
    Different manager, coach.
At least two new players and some players who did not really feature at all last season back in the frame.
I guess you can look at the glass half empty if you want to, but things are not that bad, and that "same hand we had last season" would be gladly held by most of the managers in this league.

UCC just beat UCD in the Collingwood Cup final. They must be a strong side at the mo.

Mainly our U-21s. But yeah, they seem to be a decent side of late, but probably no better than lower First Division?

Yea quality team there at the moment. As per my sig they've won four in a row and 5 out of the last 6. They havnt left in a goal in 10 games!

The back four and the keeper (a former City underage player) are fantastic.

This will be a mighty good test for City

    EDIT

Just found out it actually the UCC B team that City are playing. The B team have an important competition coming up. Pity it aint the Senior team

It's not really about the teams we play, it's about getting 90 minutes action for the starting 11, to boost their fitness
Whatever it was I am sure it was better than my plan to get out of this by pretending to be mad. I mean, who would have noticed another madman around here?

What a ridiculous time to have a match in midweek. Not all of us are tax dodgers and I, for one, do not listen to The Levellers. I do have a first class degree from the University of Life though. Man!

Yes 3 is the time (official site confirms this). The reason I said 'Tues Night' is cause that's what Rico originally said to the Echo.
