Gallagher was in the right place for the option of the great pass to be made. Great positional play from him.

Didn't Albert Rusnak start for Slovakia against us in the play-off? He has been in the MLS for four years. He should be looked at if he kicks on.

Playing midfielder there Kenny needs to give this fellow his his deserved chance. Along with Ronan. Happy Fathers Day enjoy a BBQ or some italian pasta with boiled meat or chicken in sauce. Profitez de les Fêtes des perès

I can vouch for the fact that Atlanta are an excellent team and if Gallagher played for them at one point then he is more than a half decent footballer. Definitely worth a look for Ireland

Two more assists for Gallagher last night against Colorado Rapids, at 1:58 and 3:04 below

An element of luck in both, the defense really should have created those crosses

I always think the standard of the MLS looks so weak, big crowds and impressive stadiums gloss over a real shortage of quality I think. In Gallagher's case he made no real impact at Aberdeen but seems to be well able for that division, which tells its own story.

Definitely. Their record in continental competitions is quite poor as well. Quite surprising tbh when you think how long it's around and it's gained very little in terms of quality traction or even international coverage. It's still a retirement league in lots of ways

Its definitely grown in popularity in the 8 years Ive been living over here but when you look at the US national team squad their best players were still developed by European leagues. The standard overall is still very poor in the MLS right now, but even given the recent acquisitions of Bale and Chillelini the retiring player options seems to be happening a little bit less and less. There are more players like Carlos Vela who have come relatively young and played a good few years. There more that happens the better it will be for the league in the long run.

All that being said Gallagher is a million miles from being near an Ireland squad. Same goes for Derrick Williams who plays every week for Galaxy

not sure about Williams, he was ahead of and rated higher than Lenihan at Blackburn before he left for LA and while at Blackburn was in Kenny's first ireland squads - and his appearances for Ireland, all at left-back, were good. Always thought it was out of sight, out of mind since he moved away.

Hes 29 now though. Having a decent career and living the dream in LA... but hes not international level I think.
