An excellent hit from Manning. He's still ahead of Brady for the footballing left-wingback role for me, Clive.

And I think he's been under-utilised by Kenny thus far.

Might be on the move today; Burnley have a second offer (this one £8m) turned down.

Mad money for a transfer between two second-tier sides, but that's the nature of the game these days

Would be a good move, as Burnley look well equipped to challenge for promotion.

Definitely a better chance of being back in the Prem with Burnley over Swansea

I think he might be as well off staying and continue building - if he has a full season like the last four months of the last campaign, then he will generate significant interest - that said, Burnley's front line isn't exactly prolific

Could be left out because of his transfer not happening. Whether the manager feels he isn't focused enough for today or pouting about it.

Russell Martins comments regarding his absence today. The part about his head being filled with nonsense is similar to Goodwins comments regarding Jamie McGrath and outside influences in his ear back in January before his move.

"Michael, we had a chat after the deadline day madness and both decided it was best for him to have the weekend off and that he couldn't contribute in a way that he should have. I'm a young manager and have to learn a lot, I shouldn't have brought him on Wednesday with what was going on, I made the wrong call. But I feel like we made the right call today, and Michael agreed.

"He'll come back in on Monday, we'll have a really good chat and we'll make sure he's in the right frame of mind to contribute. His head has been filled with all sorts of nonsense since we first came back in, so his energy has been a bit different.

"We need to get back to the Michael Obafemi we had from December onwards and I'm sure we will."

Not in the squad again tonight, which if nothing else is bad timing with the Nations League coming up shortly

I get him being left out in the game after the window closes but he must be really actin the cnut there if 2 weeks later hes still being left out.... worrying considering his previous attitude issues that we thought were left behing

Yeah, it's certainly a thought that occurred to me too.

He can play a bit of ball because you don't fluke the run he went on in the first half of the year. But he's not started this season well and I'm sure there's plenty of players who've fallen away after a good run before

Michael Ricketts always springs to mind when I think about a 1 season wonder

Could also be a situation where Russell Martin asks Kenny not to pick him until he gets himself sorted though.

No he will want him getting game time with us, while mentaining disipline within his up set up.

Unfortunately his attitude looks like it will be his waterloo

I think that's really unfair on the lad. I think he could do with filtering his thoughts a bit better, based on what we've seen, but that's hardly a capital offence. I actually think Kenny could also do with a bit of filtering after throwing in that "two or three sides to every story" line. I'm sure he was asked about it but he should have just said that it was something to be sorted out between Obafemi and his club manager and didn't really affect Michael's place in the Ireland camp. Now Kenny may just have had a negative affect on Obafemi's immediate career prospects.

Mick O back on bench today, Swansea as per usual are struggling to threaten. 0-0 at HT, expect Mick to return in second half.

No doubt about it Obafemi is a bit of a clown, has shown form at Southampton and Swansea. Scores a few championship goals and suddenly thinks he’s Pele, agent whispers in his ears and he was likely annoyed when Burnley move fell through. However, Russel Martin has some form with poor man management skills (Benda their current first choice keeper is an example) reading through their forum, they’re not exactly on Martin’s side. Trying to exert his authority old school at a time when Swansea are in a bit of disarray. Probably he could have handled it with a bit more diplomacy. Anyways he’s back in squad today, hopefully Mick will mature a bit and refocus, good talent
