Having said that, maybe N'Lundulu has moved ahead of him.

That's a big blow for him. Basically a whole season lost as he has hardly kicked a ball for Southampton.

It would be a strange rumour to make up. It's almost certainly true. Wonder if it's another hamstring issue, he has had hamstring problems before.

Obafemi has recovered from his muscle injury and op sooner than expected. Hasenhuttl thinks his attitude may have improved during his recovery and layoff.

Made his first appearance since returning from injury, coming on in the 66th minute against Liverpool.

He looked fitter and stronger than before. Perhaps his manager is right, the injury lay-off may have been the best thing to have happened him. Let’s see how much more game time he sees before the seasons end. Ings due back over next game or 2

Looked lively when he came on - nearly pounced on a through ball in the box, then set up a shot for one of his team-mates with a nice cushioned header

Of the 4 young strikers that we thought had the most potential Connolly, Idah, Parrott and Obafemi I would have sworn that Obafemi would be the least likely to make it as a Premiership footballer. He looked awful anytime I watched him.

That might have changed now, hopefully he has gotten himself right during the layoff and he can kick on

In a strange way, Obafemi could be better positioned to succeed at the highest level than a guy like Parrott. Parrott's biggest asset seems to be his cleverness -- but maybe that stands out more when against junior players that don't have the same tactical awareness.

In contrast, Obafemi has that elite burst of pace that you either have or you don't. He can probably still evolve the tactical side, hold up play, etc. I've never been too turned off about the attitude issue...he has the raw ingredients to be a dangerous player and a different type of striker than what we've had in my time watching the national team.

Various sources (e.g. FLW, Lancs Live) suggesting that Blackburn Rovers like Obafemi and could take him, plus a lot of money, from Southampton as Adam Armstrong goes south.

Might be for the best - he needs to get serious game time at this point of his career and it seems he's down the pecking order at Southampton, even though he's shown he's capable of playing at Premier League level when given the chance. In the debate about tactics, we seem to be limiting it to Hoofball v Tiki-Taka, but there is little talk about how to use pace up-front and that could be important when we pick somebody like Obafemi - I've mentioned it elsewhere before that only two of Shane Long's international goals came about as a result of getting him in a foot race with a defender (the Germany one being his most famous goal) and we need to be able to do that better going forward

I watched a little bit of the Copa America and not all the teams there were playing tick taka style and it was refreshing and entertaining to watch and could be affective.

We zero pace, why would SK not want this guy in the squad ( I know he is a lemon, but we are desperate) Connelly, Obafemi and Ogbene in an attaching three, might work ( 3-4-3)

Im aware that Ogbene has only play a few mins, but lads we have to move on from James McClean and players like Jeff and Conor.

My preference would still be 4 -5 -1 ( but we need a really good 10 for that)

I think this has the potential to be a good move for the lad if it offers him the opportunity of first-team football. Another upshot is that the sale of Armstrong would give Blackburn the funds to possibly bid for Ronan Curtis.
