    Managerial Changes in 2018

A LoI premier division club who cannot be named are seeking a new manager as their previous manager (who cannot be named in case it identifies the club) has left to become Assistant Manager at Scunthorpe Utd

Ah what the heck, this is way too difficult, read about it here:

The goings on at that club make me feel a little bit better about the abominations that are our press releases on player signings.

What exactly did they expect ?

These fellows come over here because they have nothing else on.
Of course he would be off first chance he got 😩.

    LOI clubs never learn 🤣

They'd only get the chance to go off again if they achieved something whilst here.

So in essence you're saying that LOI clubs shouldn't have overseas managers, because once they bank achievements they'll move on. Down with ambition.

And it's not as if an Irish manager has never tried to move across channel at the first opportunity they got e.g. Stephen Kenny, Pat Fenlon, Roddy Collins etc

Not to be the assistant manager at scunthorpe ffs. Not comparable at all.

I don't know what happened behind the scenes, but it wouldn't surprise me if Limerick continued their tradition of promising a big budget and then reneging on it, and McDonald just walked away when they tried to do it to him.

I suppose keeping Limerick in the Premier Div is an achievement 😁

He can give it all he's got with the largest balls ever, but it won't matter a bit with the squad lining up as it is.

True Story, funny thing is right now i think they`d love to have the same squad that finished last season, but at the time they were getting abuse and all being released before even trying to assemble a new squad for this season.

It's going to be difficult but good luck to him.
Time for the fans to step up.

    Some truth in that.

Some clubs don't know how luck they are to have a sugar daddy or someone who can step in with some cash when needed. This has it's pitfalls too of course - when the money stops coming then there isn't the history, or work rate or level of volunteering to bring in the hard earned cash.

When I see the amount of fundraising that my own club does to keep the ship afloat. It's unbelievable the amount of hard graft that goes into it. Committee members and fans alike put their shoulder to the wheel and the response by the Sligo public is always very positive. People see the benefit of the club to the area and are more that happy to give a few bob. Don't get me wrong, a Sligo Rovers fan who wanted to splash some cash would be welcome but it's not the way we have done things and in some ways could have a negative effect in the long run.

Manager: Fergal, have you your boots with ya?
Fergal: Ya, I have them here.
Manager: Ah good stuff, well give them to this man so, he forgot his!

sligo and Limerick aren't really comparable in any real meaningful way apart from both fielding football teams though are they?

I prefer sniping from the sidelines anyway to be honest, more fun, less hassle.
