Why were Waterford playing a youngg team? Surely it was an opportunity for them to test their first team out
They decided to play the first team in their friendly Friday night instead.
Shannonsiders 2-0 Cobh, wasn't at it but sounded fairly routine against a weak team, nothing to really act as a barometer for premier division.
We've used our under 19s in the Munster Senior Cup the last few years no matter who the opposition is. Lost 3-0 to Wilton at the same stage last year. First team played Cabinteely on Friday - started well but then had a sending off and went to pot. Great experience for the under 19s. 17 year old up against Cummins did well, midfielders taking on McNamee, Morrissey, Keohane, Shepard, Sadler - very good for them. Buckley got what seemed a nasty injury getting his foot stuck on the astro. Paul Martin in goal for the Blues had a stormer - he's the twin brother of John, midfielder in our first team. Very happy not to concede from play and to battle well against the champions. First team are away to Cobh on Wednesday so there was no chance of them being involved.
Still seems odd , a full run out against cork would have been a good test.
Friday: Bray 0-3 Wexford FC. Good performance by Wexford with the 3 goals coming in the 1st half. Nasty challenge by the Bray left back on Conor Sutton, which hopefully hasn't ended his season. Bray were absolutely terrible and I would suspect they will be in trouble from the start
Waterford's friendly on Friday night they played a first choice 11 the sending off was avoidable, the new lad Stanley Opoku Aborah booked for the foul and then gets his marching orders for mouthing at referee not a debut to remember, in all fairness he looked good in thee short time on pitch and played significant part in goal. Cabinteely missing four first team starters and coming out on top 2-1. Not bad for Cabo lost 1-0 to St Pats and then 4-2 to Dundalk in previous two preseason friendlies. First division could a tight call this season!
Wasn’t at the game but a number of people reported have said Stanley was fouled no free was giving, then Grant gave Wexford the free booked Stanley. Of course frustration took over he’d words with the ref. Grant done what he does best made a b****x of the game and sent him off.
I’d say something if it was a red from a bad challenge, But in a friendly he should of told Rennie to take him off or he’ll be sent off. Even a former Waterford manager whom isn’t fondly remembered, moaned on twitter at the lack of common sense by the ref and current manager in the LOI

UCD 12-0 Coláiste Stiofán Naofa.
Take that, First Division!
It's kind of hard to see where the joke in your post is in fairness?
Really? Both being college teams.. Never mind
Rovers won on pens last night in the Atlantic Cup after a 0.0 draw.
Webster sent off.
Anyway,
We played Bohs last night and lost 2-1.
Sam Verdon seems to be our main man this year, some very very good play by him and a lovely finish for our goal with some beautiful build up play. I thought we came into the game as time went on and made a few good chances. Bohs were worth the win though, they hit the crossbar a couple of times, and some decent saves by our two keepers kept them out for most of it.
Happy enough with the performance, but we really really need a striker.
Sporting F*ck All!
