Galway United maintained their unbeaten preseason run against Premier opposition after they played out an uneventful scoreless draw with Finn Harps. On a bitterly cold Terryland night neither team produced any exciting football to excite the small attendance.

A tame first half saw very few chances created with the only chances of note falling to Captain Colin Fortune who had a long range shot go wide, while ex-United player Ian Rossiter missed a good opportunity when inside the box his left footed shot hit the side netting.

11 minutes into the second half Colin Fortune hit a 20 yard shot narrowly wide, and a minute later Barry Moran missed a good chance when put clear but his shot was saved by the Harps keeper.

The best chance of the game fell to United in the last five minutes. After some good interplay between Moran and sub Phillip O'Reilly the ball was squared to Russell who from 10 yards could not direct his shot on goal and the ball drifted wide.
