San Marino have doubled the number of wins they have recorded in their senior history tonight - beating Liechtenstein 1-0 in the Nations League, the exact same score against the exact same opposition as their only other win back in 2004.
That was a friendly though; this one is the Nations League and is their first ever competitive win. The San Marino fan Twitter account is going mental.
There'll be sore heads in the morning!
It must fairly suck for Liechtenstein though. The one highlight of their season, ruined.

Sunderland West End 5-2 up into injury time.
Yarm & Eaglescliffe ended up winning 6-5.
Certainly up there with the more unusual antics of mascots...

Fair to say he's known for being on the, eh, hard right...

I dont know why but this made me laugh a lot.A Bulgarian top-flight team has apologised for holding a minute's silence for a former player, only to discover he is still alive...
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

Poured himself a brandy and seems happy to be facing into extra time!

Surprisingly not a unique issue - Ndaye Mulamba, one of Zaire's 1974 World Cup squad, had a minute's silence held for him at the 1998 African Cup of Nations, after he had apparently and very specifically died in a diamond mining accident in Angola. He lived another 20 years and used the occasion to try raise awareness of the way the World Cup squad in general had been mistreated in the meantime. Probably other examples too.
I don't know if they're less likely to happen now (because there's so much quick information) or more likely to happen now (because there's so much quick disinformation...)
Dunno where to put this. Mental mental mental.
Always had a soft spot for Hibs. Really feel for them. Always loved Eastern grounds and the atmosphere their fans bring.

Here they come! It’s the charge of the “Thanks” Brigade!
Liverpool player gets sent off for taking off his jersey after a previous yellow card. Three things strike me as odd about this: 1) Why take off your jersey when you score (I know it's the fashion but seriously ?)? 2) Why take off your jersey when you score against a team in a division below you and which is doing badly there as well? 3) Why take off your jersey when you're on a booking and don't give me he forgot in the ecstasy of the moment of scoring against mighty Southampton in the Carabou Cup?
Then again, why do players get booked for this stupid celebration ?
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.
