The Brandywells going plastic ? Shame. I'm not in favour of plastic pitches. Dalymount scheduled to be the same I think (If it ever happens !). Can't beat a real pitch.
Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.

Do you reckon it'll be harder or easier to scoop the dog **** up off that?

Any word yet on the Premier Division format for next year? Are they likely to go with a 36 game season?

Cork and Derry have issued season tickets on that basis so I'd say it's at the very least assumed

    It'll probably be a 32-game season so.

Ah great, wasn't aware of that. Is the First Division going to be the same or 27 games?

I saw it somewhere online that we will be playing each team 3 times making it 33 games...
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

If you played each other 3 times you would only have 27 games. 10 teams unless they can find 2 more from somewhere.

Heard a fairly unlikely rumour a few weeks back that Sheriff YC were approached to enter the league, possibly in place of Athlone or else in their own right. Would be shocked if it was true but at least there are expansion talks.

There used to be an invitation to submit expressions of interest each year. Haven't seen that this year. Don't remember it last year either now that I think of it.

36 games in the First Division is probably not possible due to there being little to no midweek fixtures, but 27 is very much on the low side. That means some teams will only have 13 home fixtures. 14 was already low enough as it was.

We'll just have to wait until a few weeks before the season when the D1 fixtures are released.

The youth league should be the stepping stone for future expressions of interest.

There were some comments of a number of clubs wanting a reserve team to bridge the gap between youth and senior level. Premier League 2 in England is for U23s. Something similar as an Intermediate League could be the next step here along with inviting the likes of Kerry, Mayo and Monaghan-Cavan to plot a course to First Division football via a play-off for the best placed of the first teams at that level.

There has been no indication I'm aware of that there is a credible alternative to the current regime. Not that they are all that credible either of course! A few lads on social media but if they want to run a club they'd need to get organised. Attacking the current incumbents is the easy part.
