Worst and most embarrassing performance in memory. An absolute shambles. Atrocious all round.

This is worse than Staunton in Cyprus.

Quite the post-mortem needed. And a lot of change. What a mess.

Sadly I rest my case, I did call this result in an earlier post on here.

Poor Irish team/squad, the likes of Clark, Christie are an embarrassment to international football.
ONeill is clueless tactically and is a spent force.

    Totally outclassed and out thought!

Oh for the days of Keane, Duff, Dunne, St Ledger, OShea......

We were favourites to top the group at one stage. What happened?

When Bendtner gets on the scoresheet, you know you deserve to lose.

Puke from start to finish, chronic defending, breezed past in midfield, impotent up front. Truly awful, we'd no business at the World Cup anyway. Really poor qualifying campaign.

The good news anyway is MON and Keane will lead us into the Euro 2020 qualifiers.
    j'accuse!

I thought it was brave at the time but that double sub at half time was an absolute disaster.

Genuinely feel bad for Wales, they would have given a better account of themselves

Totally a different team without Coleman. We just are not deep enough for him to miss significant time. Wales have to be ruing Cardiff. They would have had a much better chance in retrospect. Sorry, Wales!

    Felt sorry for McClean there.

Ah here, Dunphy. Denmark are a good side now. They were rubbish on Saturday according to him.
Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.

Me too, and although Tony O'D isn't liked much on here, I thought he did well to just let him leave the interview when he did.

In the last 10 years the only times the Danes have scored more than 4 have been against Malta and lichtenstein

Glad you brought that up. What happened was four squandered points against Austria and Georgia, all O'Neill's fault. And we would only have needed a draw versus Serbia. I said the draw against Austria would come back to haunt us. Not all O'Neill's fault however. When all you do is hoof the ball game after game you have no business at the big show. Ireland and N. Ireland, try to learn some lessons from Iceland

Sorry Wales!?? Didn't they break our captain's leg?

Denmark have spent 15 years under Morten Olsen developing a common system and tactical approach at all levels. They have the same population as us and their players play at a similar level. Some even in the Danish and Norwegian league. But they have a plan. They know how to pass.

We have an FAI with no national development plan and an international team that lurches from one match to the next, relying only on passion and desire.

Everything wrong with Irish football got exposed tonight. We can continue to ignore it, or we can use this as an opportunity to do something about it.

How illuminating. Are we now worse than Malta and Lichtenstein? I knew things were bad but thank you for putting Ireland where they belong in Europe, at the bottom. That really helps me have an overall perspective on this evening's proceedings.
